Xbox One gets Verizon live TV app featuring 74 channels but requires Gold subscription
Free app also features Kinect controls and allows you to watch two things at once via Snap multitasking feature.
A free Verizon FiOS TV app is now available on Xbox Live, but you'll need subscriptions to Xbox Live Gold and Verizon to make use of it. The same is true for the existing Xbox 360 Verizon FiOS TV app.
Users can stream up to 74 live channels (the exact number depends on your subscription package) through the Xbox One using the app, which also features Kinect voice and gesture controls.
Since the Xbox One already allows you to patch through your cable feed directly to the system, you might wonder why you'd need to download the app at all.
Verizon says one benefit is you'll be able to stream two video feeds at once using the Snap feature. The benefits for sports fans is obvious: watching two games at once, but this also works for any other live programming.
