Now Playing: Xbox Games With Gold - February 2019

The month's mid-point has come, which means that the Xbox Games With Gold have cycled over into the next set. February's previous games are still available through the end of the month, while this new batch will be available to download through mid-March.

On Xbox One, Super Bomberman R joins the line-up next to Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon, which went up earlier this month. Super Bomberman is an action game that pays homage to the classic series, having you set bombs and traps against friends and foes alike in a maze-like environment. Curse of the Moon is modeled after classic Castlevania games and serves as a prequel to the upcoming Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Meanwhile, the classic Xbox game Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy has joined the service, replacing Assassin's Creed Rogue. This is an unusual example of an original Xbox game rotating instead of one for Xbox 360, but it's well-regarded among Star Wars fans.

As always these games are free and will be yours to keep as long as you grab them during the promotional period, even if your Gold account expires. Separately, Microsoft offers the subscription-based Game Pass service, which this month adds Crackdown 3, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and more.

SW: Jedi Academy is fun, I've played it repeatedly including a current playthrough on XBox. I especially like the Jedi Grip power, when attacked by a Dark Jedi on a bridge I'll grab him by the throat and drop him to his doom. His cry on the way down makes me chuckle.

That SW game was a good one back in the day. The Bloodstained game is a fantastic throwback title. Haven't played that particular Bomberman title, but I've enjoyed the ones in the past. Not a bad haul at all.

Another poop month of games. Who would have thought?

@onehitta323: Troll alert!!!

@Thretosix: Sure. Because I have a different opinion than you. Sorry that you can't handle the truth!

@onehitta323: LOL... All three of these games are / were fantastic, particularly Bloodstained. Clearly you've played none of them.

@Pyrosa: fantastic? Well I guess so if you only have an x flop one. Not many good games on there to begin with. I have bomberman on the switch and it was only good for about 30 minutes. Very lackluster. Nobody cares about bloodstained, and Jedi Knight Jedi Academy I have on pc. Played it like 15 years ago lmao. So yes, nothing to get excited about here.

@onehitta323: This is a decent selection. I'm sure many will be pleased with SW:JA. Bloodstained was good too, although a bit short.

@aross2004: Star Wars JA was good about 15 years ago. Now? Nope.

The star wars game is a nice treat, I've personally never played it, but its star wars and can't be any worst then BF2 lol... Downloading.

As for bomberman, I'm an OG player of the series, but was never going to spend anywhere close to $39.99 for it.

In comes xbox for the win, i must say, I've been playing story for an hour and really enjoying it. One thing I'm not a fan of is the camera movement... I haven't really messed around with the game settings, but if your able to switch to a fixed camera angle (middle of the screen, like back in the day) this would solve my issue. Other then that, the difficulty (even on expert) seems a bit too easy, until later stage, and even then...regardless, if you enjoy old bomberman games, you might enjoy trippin out on this... Especially for free, THANK YOU, FOR A GREAT FEBRUARY XBOX!

Seriously great games for the price. Jedi Academy is still the best Jedi sim. Curse of the moon is the best Castlevania clone I've ever seen. Bomberman is good for an afternoon, but if you have friends to play local multiplayer with it can be party staple.
