Now Playing: Crackdown 3 - Xbox Game Pass Official Trailer

Following up on its previous May offerings, Microsoft has announced another set of eight games coming to Xbox Game Pass subscription service throughout the rest of the month and early June. The games coming to Xbox One over the next few weeks include some indie classics, big franchises, and even a couple of day-one launches.

First on May 23, the service will add Metal Gear Survive and The Banner Saga. The first is an alternate take on the Metal Gear universe with light horror elements, while the latter is a strategy game set against a backdrop of viking legend.

Then on May 29, the shooter Void Bastards will launch and become immediately available on Game Pass same-day. May 30 will bring another launch day game, the exploration game Outer Wilds. That day will also add the multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight.

Then moving into June, three more games have been announced. Full Metal Furies, The Banner Saga 2, and Superhot will all hit the Game Pass service on June 6.

Those all join other recent May offerings that include Wolfenstein 2, Wargroove, Tacoma, and more. Microsoft tends to announce Game Pass offerings about three weeks at a time, so we're likely to see the rest of the June lineup later. That could mean reveals to come at Microsoft's E3 press conference.

Game Pass offers an all-you-can-eat subscription to a library of more than 100 games for $10 per month. All first-party Xbox One games, like Sea of Thieves and Forza Horizon 4, are included on launch day. If you'd like to give the service a try, you can sample the first month for just one buck. There's still a little more time to get the extended offer, which includes three months for $1.

Xbox Game Pass May - Early June

  • Metal Gear Survive (May 23)
  • The Banner Saga (May 23)
  • Void Bastards (May 29)
  • Outer Wilds (May 30)
  • Dead by Daylight (May 30)
  • Full Metal Furies (June 6)
  • The Banner Saga 2 (June 6)
  • Superhot (June 6)

Banner Saga series is excellent, for those who are capable of playing strategy games.

Superhot is a fun one-day diversion.

Dead by Daylight is one of those games I'll play for like 2-3 nights and be done with (perfect for GP), same as the overrated Evolve (the async monster hunter, if that was its name).

Cool for Xbox, drek for Play Anywhere.

Ok gotta admit all those games are crap this is disappointing. Thought we'd see Farcry V or Shadow of War by now. And if they wanted to bring in a day one release instead the crap Outer Wilds how about that new Rage game that one seems perfect for Game Pass

@Marky360: Shadow of War has been on Game Pass for a couple of months now. Don't know why you'd think Far Cry V would be there since none of the previous installations have been there yet.

If I'm not mistaken it's Shadow of Mordor on Game Pass not the sequel and as far Farcry goes definitely the type on game to get added to Game Pass plus if I'm not mistaken isn't Farcry Blood Dragon on there?

@Marky360: OK, figured it out. I evidently bought Shadow of War during the Xmas sale last year and forgot about it - they say the memory is the first thing to go when you get old. LOL! Sorry for the confusion, I'm man enough to admit when I made a mistake.

@Marky360: No Far Cry game has been on the service to date - go ahead and check below if you doubt me on that one. There are actually few (if any) Ubisoft games on the service, it is more likely those games would be a GwG as Ubisoft has been very active in that regard. It is far more likely that one of the older titles will show up there before FC5, that is just common sense.

But I am a bit confused as I do have Shadow of War installed but never bought it, so was sure it was already on the service. Seems that was a Free Play Days offer during which I downloaded it and mistakenly thought it was on Game Pass - I believe this happened about the same time that Shadow of Mordor released on the service which likely led to my confusion on that. Makes sense too as that game is still a little too new to be on the service. Shame as I was planning on playing a bit of that over the holiday weekend, now I know not to waste my time trying.

MetalGear Survive?

So Microsoft is pretending that anyone liked or wants this garbage.

All Konami needed to do was make a large DLC for MGS V

instead of a weird melee game with MGS V assets..

MGS V TPP ranks in my top 5 all time and Metal GearSurvive brought no joy to play.

I couldn't even get 1/2 way....

Just shows Microsoft is desperate to fill GamePass w/ every game they can.

Binding of Isaac afterbirth would be nice.

Yea Microsoft has to be weary of just adding any crap and should focus on only good games so Game Pass doesn't get bogged down with garbage. For the most part Game Pass is good but this list of games is definitely pretty bad.

@Marky360: Opinions are like buttholes...everyone has one and most stink.

Avatar image for Marky360

What do ya know just like all these trash ass games lol ? I don't see why ppl would be negative towards someone who's advocating for use to get better games it's like y'all WANT to play trash lol.

Avatar image for dlCHIEF58

@Marky360: Your view is subjective and wrong on many of these titles. I actually prefer lesser known and less popular titles be in the service as it allows me to try them at no risk or cost...I already know what AAA titles I'm going to buy or play, adding them into the service does little to add to the value for me since I likely have already bought them. I am sure I am not the only one within that camp.

Avatar image for ballashotcaller

@sippio: metal gear survive is actually a good game if you just remove your metal Gear solid expectations and take it for the culty/campy spinoff it is.

Avatar image for Marky360

WTF hell no it is not even if you look at it not as a Metal Gear Solid game it's still absolute garbage. It's like the dev team was trying to make it bad.

Avatar image for Geocross

@sippio: Chill out dude, everyone know the game is bad but there's no harm in trying it out if you have the option to do it free. Microsoft is not desperate if you look the good quality of games that they have, but of course not all games are in everyone's liking.

Avatar image for Marky360

Yea but come Metal Gear Survive is objectively bad nobody wants that trash we'd actually be better off with nothing as Metal Gear Survive is worth less then nothing.

Avatar image for johnemoyer3

@Marky360: and metal gear survive was not that bad just relax and let the game pass people try it and see if they like it or not

Avatar image for Marky360

Lol you gotta be fucking kidding me that game is straight trash I sure as **** ain't downloading that blasphemous filth onto my console. You want to wreck your sanity playing that tripe be my guest.

Avatar image for lionheartssj1

@sippio: At least people can try it out relatively risk free now?

Avatar image for Pyrosa

@lionheartssj1: Exactly the point of having oddball aNd indie games on GP. Marky seems to think only AAA shooters should be on there.
