Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Could One Day Work With Original Xbox Games

If this actually happens, then Xbox One looks like the next console to buy. I don't know how much longer my old xbox will hold up to be able to play Jade Empire.

The 360 emulated the OG XBOX hardware, much like XBONE to 360. If the XBONE can have a fully fledged 360 running on it, shouldn't this be part of the software already?

Yes please. I was just playing the original Mercenaries the other day. I'd love to be able to play my OG Xbox games on XB1.

Considering the 360 couldn't even play all the xbox games, why would the one be able to?

I still can't get over how good the original Xbox looked, and ha that controller it's like using an entire watermelon with buttons to control the game, it was great lol.

That said it would be pretty neat to see some of these old games available to play on the X1. It'd be cool if the PS4 did something similar with PS2 an PS games.

I would run to Amazon and buy up new copies of Mechassault 1 and 2, Crimson skies, the original GOOD Star Wars Battlefront, Star Wars Republic Commando. lot of good memories with the original xbox. make it so Microsoft.

I don't see myself using the original xbox backward compatibility too much. Most of the ones I want to play have been remastered or there is a PC version. Conker is probably the only one I think can think of I would play. The other would've been Shenmue 2 but I just recent played that on emulator. Still I wouldn't mind it having the to say the least.

If they make this a feature I would like them to turn back on the original Xbox Live servers so we can play mp. I'm sure it would be considered with Phil Spencer at the helm.

Need for Speed Underground and Most Wanted. I may consider buying a xone for these and other games. Maybe.

I would totally play Psi-Ops or Gladius again. (There are dozens of others, but those are the first two that come to mind.)

Its awesome they are getting 360 games running, as long as they get enough support, i am loving playing Shadow Complex on XB1. Having Xbox Original games to play on XB1 would be even more awesome. Jedi Academy and Tony Hawks Underground!

I have yet to play jet set radio future. I hope they add it.

Now, I know this will never happen, but the original Xbox almost shipped with the ability to play Dreamcast games, wouldn't it be neat if MS could make a deal with Sega to include a Dreamcast emulator in addition to an OG Xbox emulator? Then all they'd need is to get Shenmue 3 made for the X1 and you could play the whole trilogy on one system!
