Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Could One Day Work With Original Xbox Games

Wait 'COULD' 5 gigs of ram and enough power to run 20 original Xboxs? You need to be fired.

This system could run true Win 10 OS for pete's sake. This system should have been REPLACING a casual PC users PC.

The 360 played Xbox One games, surely run whatever software the 360 did to play them in the 360 emulator lol...

Well they got "Grabbed By The Ghoulies" up and running on the One, so it's obviously possible. I'm sure it's just a matter of how many resources they want to throw at something like this in the future I suppose.

I hope they find a way to run Amped 2 at some point.

But surely if you still have original Xbox games you'd still have the console? I still have mine so I'd rather them focus on moving forward instead of back two generations

I think microsoft is doing something smart. Let me briefly explain. Their concept at launch was a one stop media station. This helps achieve this. As a lot of people have said, who cares about old games right? Valid, but think about basics and competition. The xbox one launched with a dated graphics card that will only continue to age. Need an example? Witcher 3, 900p, 30 fps. Can't even handle witcher at full 1080p. Now think about pc gamers and the rise of steam machines. All of these games will play. The only real upgrade consumers need to buy every so often is a 300 dollar graphics card and they can play in 4k resolution granted you have a decent quad core cpu. So adding more games available will add to the overall experience. Microsoft only makes money on their operating system to some pc gamers. Microsoft makes money guaranteed on xbox one systems, digital store sales, and xbox live. It's giving console gamers a "steam" or "origin" like experience. Least they are making an effort.

there is no need for this as the only 3 games people really want to play IF they have the old Xbox are Halo 1-2 and Ninja Gaiden Black which all work on the Xbox 360 so yeah xD

What I'm saying is that we don't need an emulator of a so so emulator, as powerful as the X1 is, they could make a much better emulator from scratch one that can do a better job at emulating a 15 year old nvidia video card.

Just another reason why this current generation is a joke. Companies want to focus on the past than the present.

Please don't use the 360's BC engine as we know how well that worked out. Do an original Xbox emulator from scratch. I'm sure the X1 being much more powerful than the 360 could do a better job.
