Xbox One Adds Two More Games To Backwards Compatibility List

Microsoft has added two more games to the Xbox One backwards compatibility list, featuring two very different kinds of combat. Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway is set against the backdrop of a historical event, while AirMech Arena is a futuristic battle arena game.

Hell's Highway from Gearbox Software received a positive reception at launch, as GameSpot's review credited it with a resonant story and beautiful visual design. It even sported an optional "authentic" difficulty mode that removed HUD elements. On the other hand, though, critic Chris Watters suggested that parts of the story are spotty because they rely too heavily on prior knowledge of the Brothers in Arms series. It's available for purchase for $20 through the Xbox Marketplace.

AirMech Arena was a smaller-scale Arcade release, and received mixed reviews on GameSpot sister site Metacritic. The base game is free-to-play, with an optional "Prime" upgrade for $20 that unlocks all the classes and units and grants permanent Silver VIP status, and 30 days of Gold status.

As always, if you already own either of these games digitally, you can find them in your existing game library and download them to your Xbox One at any time now that they've been updated with backwards compatibility. Or, if you own Brothers in Arms on disc, you can pop that into your system.
