Xbox Live version of Shin Megami Tensei Nine canceled

Atlus officially cancels its upcoming Xbox Live project.

Atlus announced today that it will not be releasing the online version of Shin Megami Tensei Nine for the Xbox as originally planned. The decision was made for a variety of reasons, including issues with the company's overall network development environment and the profitability of online games. But Atlus will continue to develop the online PC version of Shin Megami Tensei Nine, considering the broadband infrastructure and audience size of the online PC game market. The development of the Xbox Live version of Shin Megami Tensei Nine was frozen in late May, and the game was not counted as a part of Atlus' income estimates for the year. The regular version of Shin Megami Tensei Nine was released on December 5 in Japan.

uh what? you'd think cancelling the xbox version and putting this baby on the 360 would've been a no brainer, apparently their brains function a lot differently than mine or something, oh well, lets just hope atlus puts something on the xbox at one point or another.
