Xbox Live launches in Europe

Microsoft's online gaming service for the Xbox is now available in Europe.


Microsoft has announced that starter kits for the Xbox Live gaming service are now available in Europe. The beta test for Xbox Live in Europe proved to be quite successful, with 96 percent of the beta testers saying they would recommend Xbox Live to a friend and 76 percent of the beta testers using the Xbox Live service more than 21 times after setting up their accounts. The Xbox Live starter kit retails for 39.99 pounds, and it includes a one-year subscription to the service, as well as online demo versions of MechAssault, Whacked!, and MotoGP. The current list of games that support Xbox Live in Europe includes MechAssault, Unreal Championship, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, Whacked!, NFL Fever 2003, and Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO.
