Xbox Live Gold free for all this weekend on Xbox 360
You can play online multiplayer and watch entertainment apps for free February 14-16; no plans for free weekend on Xbox One.
Microsoft announced today that it will hold a special Xbox Live Gold free weekend for all Xbox 360 users beginning tomorrow, February 14, and running through Sunday, February 16.
During that period, all Xbox Live users in the United States and Canada will have access to the Xbox Live Gold "perks," including online multiplayer and entertainment applications. You can use this free weekend to try out World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition, which launched yesterday and normally requires a Gold subscription.
The free weekend is only going to be offered on Xbox 360. Sorry, Xbox One owners, you'll still need an Xbox Live Gold membership to play the Titanfall beta, which starts tomorrow.
It's a big week for Microsoft and Xbox Live. In addition to the free Xbox Live Gold weekend for Xbox 360, a major Xbox One system update is expected to go live today or tomorrow.
