Xbox Game Pass: T-Mobile Customers Get A Free Month

Do you have T-Mobile and an Xbox One? A Freebie is coming your way.

If you're a T-Mobile customer, it looks like you're getting a free one-month subscription to Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass service on Xbox One later this year.

Today, T-Mobile announced in a message to customers that they will receive a one-month subscription to the Netflix-style gaming service for free...at some point. The message does not say when the freebie will be available. Xbox Game Pass is due out sometime this Spring, so it could be soon.

The message from T-Mobile also directs people to tune in to the Xbox E3 briefing in June, though it's not clear if any Xbox Game Pass announcements will be made at that time.

"This June, Xbox is comin' back and we're giving one-month of Xbox Game Pass to T-Mobile customers," reads a line from the message. "Discover and download titles you've always wanted or revisit and old favorite--there's always something new to play! Plus, we've got chances at epic Xbox prizes! If you want more info on what's coming next for Xbox, be sure to tune into the Xbox E3 briefing on June 11 at 2 PM PT."

Xbox Game Pass, which was announced in February, is a Netflix-like service that provides subscribers with access to a catalog of 100 games (see all the confirmed titles here). Microsoft let alpha testers try the service earlier this year, though the pre-release testing period has now ended.

Outside of the freebie offer, the service will cost $10/month.

Good for people on T-Mobile ! however $10 a month for the rest of us is still not a bad deal at all !!

Can't complain.

How about MS and T-Mo go deeper in their partnership and allow unlimited downloading and improved multiplayer performance/latency for when you're tethering your Xbox through a T-Mobile phone. That would make me :)

T-Mobile is horrible. Not worth the $10 present.

@joshrmeyer: I've been with them since they were Voicestream back in 99 and never had a problem. Great reception, great plans, great features, and great customer service, what more do you want?

@rasterror: Coverage to start with. If you live in or near a big city it's fine. When I moved to TN, I could hardly ever get a signal, even at my house. Verizon seems to be the best in coverage, but their prices kinda suck.

Edit: And they wanted to charge me $350 to get out of my contract, even though I told them I had zero signal where I live and it was my only phone line.

@joshrmeyer: I went to Covington Tennessee multiple times and never had a problem with service. Maybe this was years back but I was there more than 3 years ago.

@rasterror: Yeah it's been a while... It was Hendersonville, TN which is huge now compared to when I lived there.

@joshrmeyer: Horrible, but of the big 4 mobile providers in the US, they might be the least horrible.
