Xbox Game Pass Referral Program Unveiled

Microsoft will let subscribers give up to five trials to friends on PC.

Microsoft wants Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers to spread the good word of its subscription service. So, with that in mind, the company has debuted a referral program in which they can pass along up to five PC Game Pass 14-day trials to their friends… or enemies (no way to confirm that aspect).

Xbox Wire does point out, though, that only people new to Game Pass can take advantage of this new promotion. So that may limit who's available in your circles to offer up the gift.

Now Playing: Redfall Everything To Know

The timing on this new referral program probably isn't coincidental. Microsoft just launched Redfall, a multiplayer-centric FPS where players slay vampires and their supporters. It's one of the biggest Xbox first-party games of the year, though GameSpot's Redfall review wasn't kind to what it calls a buggy and underdeveloped title.

Redfall isn't the only new title on the way to Game Pass. Microsoft just announced the first wave of May titles for the service, with the list also including Ravenlok and Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2.

A couple of other games Microsoft highlights for this new referral program are Forza Horizon 5 and Sea of Thieves.

In March, Microsoft ended the $1 Xbox Game Pass trials, so this referral program seems to currently be the only way for new people to test out the service.
