Xbox Game Pass continues to grow, with a new estimate putting the subscriber count at 20 million as of June. Microsoft disclosed in a financial document that Xbox Game Pass subscribers grew by 37% in the 12 months ended June 30. The target was 48% growth, so Microsoft did not deliver on expectations as it related to Game Pass.

According to analyst Daniel Ahmad, 37% growth would put Game Pass subscribers at 20 million-plus as of June 30, a figure that has surely grown since then.

Microsoft revealed this as part of a disclosure regarding executive pay. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's pay is based in part on Xbox Game Pass subscriber growth.

The last official Game Pass subscriber number that Microsoft released was 18 million back in January. Take-Two's Strauss Zelnick estimated that Game Pass might have 30 million members now, but Microsoft won't discuss Game Pass numbers in terms of raw data, at least not yet.

Microsoft will announce its full earnings report on October 26, and we might get a new hard number on Game Pass subscribers then. Keep checking back with GameSpot for more.

In other news, Microsoft announced 11 more Game Pass titles that are coming to the catalog this month, while it also revealed which games are leaving the program on October 31.
