Xbox Game Pass--Borderlands, Lego Worlds, And Other Games Leaving Soon

Borderlands, Cities: Skylines, and other games are leaving Xbox Game Pass for PC and Xbox One soon.

Microsoft is removing six games from Xbox Game Pass this month across Xbox One and PC, including Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, which consists of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. On the bright side, several new Game Pass titles are now available, with more to come later this month.

As is the case with all games leaving the popular subscription service, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can purchase each game leaving at a 20% discount if they want to continue playing. An exact removal date has not been announced.

The lists for Xbox One and PC feature some overlap, with Vampyr, Operencia: The Stolen Sun, and Cities: Skylines. The full list can be seen below.

It's a pain, although one of these games is less of a loss than the others. If you're a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, or have been on Xbox Live Gold for a while, odds are that you have The Golf Club 2019, too--it was free in May 2019, and it follows on from The Golf Club 2.

On the plus side, Xbox Game Pass subscribers recently got their hands on Ori and the Will of the Wisps as part of their subscription, and will still have access to over 100 other games. Additionally, several new Game Pass games have just been confirmed, while Game Pass Ultimate members will now receive select DLC for free as part of a new "Perks" feature.

If you're new to Xbox Game Pass, you can subscribe now for just $1.

That sucks. I wanted to finish operencia, but not even worth trying to knowing it's leaving. This has happened to the last 3 games I've wanted to play & didn't finish any of them. Maybe it's worth creating a new account to get the $1 deal or play exclusives, but beyond that, it's not for me.

Probably to make room for more Final Fantasy and Yakuza games. Personally, I'm looking forward to it.

@twztid13: Economically they can't really support everything at once.

Is Vampyr being removed from both console and PC or just Console. These update always say Gamepass like it's a singular service, which it isn't any more.

@spectral: i know, I've made that point several times but the mods will blindly defend this & the editors don't read the comments, nor would they care what the community thinks if they did, sadly.

Yep, that's what happens with services. shit get pulled out all the time. I hope such news would be eye opening to those who think this is a reliable service. It's a mere Demo service, you like the game, u still gotta BUY it regardless of what MS is trying to tell u.

@WA31988: I believe that people such as me knew what this program is all about and I do see it as reliable as I save money by demoing an game that may be worthless and if I buy w/o demoing it I lose money. I know the rules and I knew the games are not permanent and as said if I do like them and want to continue to enjoy them I get 20% off, your way of thinking is flawed.

@WA31988: i am really confused by your post.

It was clear on Day 1 that games will join the service and games will leave.

You have plenty of time to finish a game or several games before they leave the service...i dont know why you act surprised.

Its a service,MS never ever stated you own games in the gamepass.

Its up to you...go out and buy Ori 2 for 40 bucks or pay 10 bucks for a month, play and complete the game.

Further, noone is forcing you to buy a game but if you want it,buy it with a discount of 20%

@WA31988: More gets added than gets removed. You can't JUST follow the removal stores and try to make a good example.

@Zorlac: yeah agreed. I think GamePass does a better job of letting you know what’s leaving the service than something like Netflix, where you have to click on the content individually or search a website to find what’s going away.

@Zorlac: So? doesn't change the fact that if you liked the game, you still need to buy it . Doesn't change the fact that you u're just renting those games (of which most of em u don't even care abt) and u don't own anything.

@WA31988: I've played through a bunch of games on Game Pass now, including Vampyr, and never felt the need to go buy them. Single Player games are great for that service because once through is usually enough for me. Game Pass has saved me a lot of money so far, and if the selection ever stops appealing, I can always cancel. And when something comes out that I want to play and isn't on Game Pass, or leaves Game Pass before I'm done, I can always go buy it.

@WA31988: Of course you have to buy it and as said you knew that from jump street so again your point is moot.

@WA31988: No one ever implied differently, so who are you trying to convince? Gamepass is easily one of the best things to happen to gaming.

@Zorlac: Best thing happened to gaming? by what standards ? if this type of services actually become the main stream, you'll never own a game ever again and become a rental slave forever. no control over which games you can play and no control even when to play them.....it's only good for MS to keep you paying, it's not good for gaming in anyway, it actually encourages shovelware..why a dev would wanna put real effort in a game anyone can have full access to for pennies? best thing to happen to gaming he says..pffft

@WA31988: Game rentals have been around $5 a day for 35 years. So with 3 days rental you've paid for gamepass. A gamepass which gives you a choice of over 200 games for that same price.

Now that said I understand you're point even if you're crybabying to make that point. You don't own stuff on gamepass. Yes you're right. No one is arguing the contrary. That said I've found and love many games that I never would have played without gamepass. Operencia, Remnant from the Ashes, Hell even lego worlds. (which I wouldn't have played without gamepass). I then get a discount on those games if i want to buy it.

Also no control over what I play? Are you really that stupid? Do you think because I have gamepass that I forgot the rest of the gaming world exists? You really need to try harder buddy.

@Zorlac: I won't go down to your level of name calling. I was criticizing the service not you as a person. but guess Xbots can't distinguish between the two. Anyway, I said IF it becomes main stream, do you understand what that even means ? It means it becomes the ONLY way to access games which is what MS is hoping and working towards and might actually happen if it gets enough subs. But thankfully, MS is in no position right now to lead anything gaming related.

@WA31988: It's already mainstream and it means I have more options to play more games I never would have seen otherwise. You say you're not going to name call, yet you instantly name call.

I also see now that I'm making my points you're ignoring what I'm actually saying.
