Microsoft's Xbox controllers are some of the best around, and if you're looking for a premium experience, it doesn't get much better than the Xbox Elite Series 2 wireless controller. Over at Walmart, you can get your hands on this controller at a terrific price, as the $180 price has been slashed down to just $122.49. These days, the typical "great" deal for the Elite Series 2 is $140, so this is a really great deal--the lowest price of the year.

Like the regular Xbox wireless controller, the Elite Series 2 has superb ergonomics, a strong battery life, and durable inputs. That experience is enhanced by the wrap-around rubberized grip, premium feel, adjustable-tension thumbsticks, and shorter hair trigger locks, as well as plenty of customization options. Using the Xbox Accessories app, you can map buttons and fine-tune more nuanced aspects of the controller to suit your specific needs, and you can save up to three profiles that can be switched between on the fly.

For competitive gamers who specialize in a wide range of disciplines, this essentially gives you precise profiles to choose from, like swapping from a first-person profile to one that favors the quick reflexes needed for fighting games.

What also makes this controller great is that it comes with its very own stylish carrying bag, spare parts like a different D-pad, analog sticks, and four detachable rear paddles. The Elite Series 2 isn't limited to just Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One consoles, you can also use this on PC or mobile devices via Bluetooth and USB-C connections. You can even use it on Nintendo Switch with the 8BitDo Wireless Adapter 2, and the back paddles work on Switch!

If you don't think you need all of the additional accessories, you can grab an open-box Xbox Elite Series 2 Core controller for $80 on eBay. The Core has the same premium feel, just without the swappable accessories. That said, you can buy accessories for it later on, and there are plenty of cheap (and good) third-party attachments, including Scuf's awesome back paddles.
