Xbox E3 2016 Show Will Last 90 Minutes -- What Do You Want to See?

Phil Spencer confirms length of Xbox conference at E3 2016.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has confirmed Microsoft's Xbox E3 2016 press conference will be 90-minutes long, which is about the same length as its briefings in previous years.

As previously announced, the event will take place at 9:30 AM PT on Monday, June 13. Although Microsoft has not officially confirmed what it will show, multiple reports have suggested a new version of the Xbox One will be revealed. It is believed to be "be 40 percent smaller" than the current one.

It has also been reported that Microsoft will separately announce new streaming hardware at E3. These will function much like Google's Chromecast and Amazon's Fire Stick, allowing users to stream content and play "lightweight" games.

Further reports have suggested Microsoft is also working on a more significant iteration of the Xbox One, which will increase its capabilities by four times its current power. This version of the Xbox One, it is believed, won't be shown until 2017.

You can check out all of the other companies attending E3 2016 right here. It's been confirmed that Electronic Arts won't have a booth or conference at this year's show, and Activision followed shortly after. You won't see Disney Interactive or Wargaming hold floor space this year, either.

New news about something Killer Instinct. Perhaps a new one? Outside of that just amaze me. Show some amazing things outside of FPS games. Maybe some RPGs, unique platformers, horror, etc. WOW ME!

Scalebound, Gears 4, Forza 7 and Crackdown 3 for PC

Avatar image for moonco

I like to see a nice serving of HoloLens, tons of Japanese dev AAA games and the audience mercilessly booing the Xbox exec's everytime they take the stage

A better Scalebound demo, Sea of Thieves gameplay and loads of gameplay for the Xbox Zelda game ReCore

60 minutes of streaming video services with the new hardware and 30 minutes of the same games they have been talking about the last few years.

I know it's extremely unlikely but fable 4.

Seriously if anything just give it to platinum and let them work their magic.

Just show games. Games. Only games. Seriously, is there anything else that's any more interesting than seeing new games?

I want to see Phil Spencer take a shot of tequila every time someone on stage during the Xbox conference says "power of the cloud"

New, top of the line racing wheel setup for Forza with VR in mind. That's all I would want.

The only thing I am keen to hear about at E3 and that is what Rockstar is working on.

I know what I DON'T want to see, that is 90 minutes of nothing but Corporate Double Speak with political thumb pointing. Hmmm this is probably not going to be the show for me then.

Crackdown 3, cuphead, gears 4, red dead, injustice 2, new superhero rocksteady title not another batman, and a bunch of new ips. Sequels are cool but new stuff is cooler.

Avatar image for fitzy_2812

Halo Wars 2 is at the top of my list, most of the other stuff is from other developers like FF15 and Deus Ex. Always down for new IP though. Hoping Microsoft at least don't waste time on VR/AR nonsense though, not really interested in it for now at least in its current state. Expecting it to take up a large portion for Sony though which I'll probably just skip over.

@fitzy_2812: They will be talking about hololens

Avatar image for fitzy_2812

@kentray1985: I expect a small segment on Hololens but I don't think it will be anywhere near as much time as Sony will probably spend. At least I hope not, even though I like the idea of Hololens much more then AR in its current form.

I want a wired X1 controller. The wired 360 controller is a ultimate PC controller. I want that, but a X1 version please!

Avatar image for fitzy_2812

@bunchanumbers: Curious why you can't just use a charge cable if a wired version is that important?

Avatar image for punksterdaddy

@fitzy_2812: The charge cables didn't work with the X360 controller, do they work for the XONE gamepad?

Avatar image for fitzy_2812

@punksterdaddy: Yep just plug it in, download the drivers and your all set.

Avatar image for bunchanumbers

@fitzy_2812: charge cables get loose. I had 360 adapters that had their wires break down. But a Wired 360 controller has no such issues. I've had a wired 360 controller since 2011 and have had no issues.

Avatar image for fitzy_2812

@bunchanumbers: Had my charge cable since launch, never had this issue. Still works perfectly fine and doesn't come loose.

Avatar image for darn_im_dead

@bunchanumbers: Tho... Price is meh, but the [Razer wildcat] is quite nice for being a plug in play controller. The plug is well supported alot better then the elite controller.

Sunset Overdrive 2....OK, that appears not to be the Kingdoms of Amalur, great games, just great games....don't talk to me about resolution or slims or VR....they may want to do those things for their business model, but for me.....great (non-shooter) games....that is all :)

Avatar image for alaannn

original xbox games being backwards compatable would be good along with a new controller designed like a dualshock 3 for the 360/x1 as for games fable 4

Avatar image for punksterdaddy

@alaannn: Fable 4? Is that even possible now?

Avatar image for suicidesn0wman

@punksterdaddy: They should give the IP to Rare and let them work their magic. Bring some of the old Fable team back to work on it so it reclaims the magic from 1 & 2.

Avatar image for alaannn

@punksterdaddy: could be they still made halo with another dev after bungie left also gears of war

Avatar image for sladakrobot

@alaannn: Nah...the two analog sticks on the same height doesnt work for me anymore since years.
I cant think of any better controller than the Xbox ones right now

Avatar image for alaannn

@sladakrobot: you could still use your xbox controller

Avatar image for deactivated-5a1d4b615a3a3

@sladakrobot: Wii U Pro controller is a pretty great controller

Avatar image for lrdfancypants

If there is a streaming box I'm curious if you can stream the entire digital catalog.

I don't see why it has to be lightweight games if you're steaming.

Avatar image for sladakrobot

I want to be entertained and i want to see which path MS took for the future gaming and service

Microsoft's E3 pressers have been improved recently, but they lack a wow factor. Sure they may have gotten rid of the terrible Kinect demonstrations that were holding them back but many of the good things they do quickly get quashed by Sony's massive announcements. Showing proper gameplay of titles like Crackdown 3, Scalebound and Sea of Thieves is all well and good, but it's the big surprises that make people take notice.

Avatar image for Flyin3lvl

@robertcain: but ... but...but ...a car came down from the roof.........a car ............. from the roof

Avatar image for alaannn

@robertcain: sony hasnt had a good e3 in years around 2008 was there last good e3

Avatar image for suicidesn0wman

@alaannn:Last years e3 from Sony was pretty good on paper. Though none of the big games announced are close to coming out, which may leave little surprise for this year.

Avatar image for fullyskully

I want to see gameplay of Scalebound, Crackdown 3, and Sea of Thieve's.
