Xbox is doing great right now and the platform is only going to get better and more robust with "really exciting" new firmware updates coming down the track seemingly in the near future. That's according to Jason Ronald, the director of program management at Xbox, who shared some teases recently in an interview with Major Nelson on his podcast.

The announcements are due "over the coming months," Ronald said, according to VGC's transcription, but for now, he shared a high-level tease of what to expect.

"As a team, we're just really excited by this initial response from fans all around the world. At launch, we say it all the time internally, this is really just the beginning," he said. "We've got a lot of really exciting things that are coming down the pipeline over the coming months and over the coming years."

Hryb himself teased that he knows there is "a lot coming" to Xbox in the future, adding that he "can't really say too much," though he teased that Ronald will have to come back on the podcast soon to discuss these new developments.

Also in the interview, Ronald said Microsoft remains very closely partnered with "key game developers from all across the industry" to make the most out of the Xbox Series S and X consoles. "We really are excited as we get further into the year and closer to this holiday to start sharing more of the details about what's in development, and how you can really take advantage of these next gen platforms," he said.

Ronald said his team took a good break after launching the next-gen Xbox consoles in November and put their focus on listening to feedback from fans about what they like and don't like about the new machines. "Now that the team is back, we're starting to release a series of updates," he said.

As for what Ronald could talk about, he shared that Microsoft plans to improve the broadcasting elements on console, make the game DVR experience better, and re-enable Quick Resume for more titles, in addition to providing more information and context to users about how Quick Resume works.
