X-Men Spinoff New Mutants Concept Art Revealed, Game Of Thrones Star Confirmed

Boone's tweet also seems to confirm that Games of Thrones' Maisie Williams will be playing the character. Williams has been rumoured to be part of the cast since last year, and while no formal announcements have been made, Boone included Williams on his tweet.

Other actors who have been rumored for roles in New Mutants include Anya-Taylor Joy (The Witch) and Nat Wolff (The Fault in our Stars), with Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, and Tye Sheridan all expected to reprise their roles as Storm, Jean Grey, and Cyclops from last year's X-Men: Apocalypse.

It has been reported that the movie might be a departure from the more traditional superhero action of the other X-Men films, with a story in ComingSoon describing it as a "teen horror movie." This ties into comments made last year by X-Men producer Simon Kinberg, who said that it would have "its own unique, original voice."

In December, an animatic of a potential action sequence from the movie was released, the authenticity of which was confirmed by Boone.

While New Mutants is yet to been given a release date, it is expected to start shooting in May.
