New York-based mobile games developer Elkware today announced that it has secured a license from Twentieth Century Fox to create games based on The X-Files. No specific game titles, mobile platforms, or release dates have been announced at this time.

"We are proud to be making games based on one of the most popular and recognizable television series of all time," said Dirk Nagel, CEO of Elkware. "Through our relationship with Twentieth Century Fox, we plan to bring this beloved franchise to life through mobile games that are faithful to the spirit of the show."

"With gripping drama and suspense, The X-Files is a fantastic property for the wireless space," added Jim Beddows, vice president for Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising's Wireless Entertainment Group. "We anticipate that Elkware will create first-class mobile content that will allow fans of the show to more fully immerse themselves into the world of X-Files."
