WWE's Kennel From Hell, WCW's Dungeon Of Doom, And More | Wrestle Buddies Episode 9

This week on Wrestle Buddies, we celebrate the best and worst of WCW and WWE in the '90s.

Comments

This week on Wrestle Buddies, GameSpot's professional wrestling podcast, Chris E. Hayner and Mat Elfring are spending quite a bit of time in the past and welcome some special guests for what is sure to be a very bizarre episode. This installment also features the return of our weirdest segment yet, Wrestlepiece Theatre.

First up, we talk about the infamous Kennel from Hell match that WWE presented in the late '90s. More than that, though, we figure out how a feud over the Hardcore Championship ended up there. You might be shocked to find out it involved one wrestler cooking another's dog and feeding it to them. The Attitude Era: There really is no low it won't stoop to.

Then, Chris and Mat jump to WCW and spend a bunch of time talking about the Dungeon of Doom, which is both a group of very silly villains and the lair they hang out in. The Dungeon of Doom existed only to destroy Hulk Hogan and tried to do it with monster trucks, a yeti, and even "Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart.

Continuing our celebration of the Dungeon of Doom, GameSpot's Kallie Plagge and Will Potter join the show for a dramatic reenactment of a promo in which the Hulkster himself ended up in the haunted cave the group liked to congregate in. Yes, it's as ridiculous as it sounds.

All of that, plus GameSpot's Meg Downey gets two minutes to talk about the things in wrestling she loves--The Shield and Orange Cassidy-- in Mike or Meg or Dan's Soapbox. Plus, we answer your questions.

New episodes of Wrestle Buddies are released every Thursday. You can check it out on Spotify, Stitcher, and Apple Podcasts.
