WWE Wrestlemania 34 Results: Mustafi Ali Vs. Cedric Alexander Highlights

Which cruiserweight reigned supreme?

After weeks of battles on 205 Live, it was finally time to crown a new cruiserweight champion at Wrestlemania. The 34th edition of WWE's annual show has concluded, and the showdown between Cedric Alexander and Mustafi Ali for the Cruiserweight Championship took place on the Kickoff Show.

Back in January, 205 Live's champion, Enzo Amore, was fired from WWE after allegations of sexual assault. Because of this, the title was vacated, and WWE's cruiserweight programming was left without the face of its show. Instead of just declaring a brand-new champion, WWE found a way to build up towards Wrestlemania, creating quite a bit of anticipation for cruiserweight fans.

Now Playing: Wrestlemania: 10 Greatest Matches Ever!

205 Live held a weekly tournament, which started on February 20, to determine which two stars would meet at Wrestlemania. After weeks of battles, Cedric Alexander and Mustafi Ali were the two men that came out on top. We originally predicted Mustafi Ali to win the match, as the superstar had yet to win the title but has that main event status. Here's how the match ended up playing out.

  • Mustafa Ali's entrance sees him wearing a small fan on his hand, which spins the smoke from the fog machine swirl into a cool vortex. Apart from being a cool visual effect, this is obviously the future of fidget spinners.
  • A real collegiate start, with Alexander and Ali trying to pump each other up at Wrestlemania. "Show me that heart," Alexander yells. "Show me that soul," Ali says. Sounds like they're about to break into song.
  • Great spanish fly from Alexander! Good elevation, and that impact looked meaty.
  • Mustafa Ali just took Alexander off the top rope for yet another spanish fly. Forget about that first one--this one was much more spectacular.
  • Ali off the second rope with a tornado DDT
  • Ali hits the 054 from the top rope. He goes for the pin but Alexander placed a foot on the ropes to break the count. Ali stomps Alexander on the face. So much for that collegiate atmosphere.
  • Ali attempts another 054, but Alexander rolls out of the ring.
  • Alexander hits the lumbar check and gets the pin! Alexander immediately hugs Ali's head in gratitude.

This wasn't the only match to crown a new champion, although one of the most expected outcomes didn't go the way we thought. You can see how everything went in our Wrestlemania 34 results recap, or check out a replay on the WWE Network.
