WWE Network Announces Free Tier Of Subscription Service
WWE is offering up a lot of content from its service for free, without needing a credit card to sign up.
Back in February, WWE revealed there are big changes coming to its streaming service, WWE Network. While the COVID-19 pandemic may halted the company's much-needed overall, WWE has announced today that there is now a free version of the WWE Network available to everyone.
While the free version of the service won't include the incredible docuseries Undertaker: The Last Ride, it does feature plenty of content for wrestling fans. Recent episodes of Raw, Smackdown, and NXT will all be available for free. In addition, the new streaming series on Monday night, Raw Talk, will also be included along with some historical PPVs and NXT Takeover shows.
WWE Network does have plenty of original content available in this tier as well, including Monday Night War, Ride Along, Table for 3, Photo Shoot, and Story Time. There are a few other select Best Of videos and more available too. The content seems to be available ad-free at this time as well, and while you do need a WWE account to watch the programming, you do not need a credit card to access it.
"The launch of WWE Network's Free Version is a key component of our company's digitization strategy and a new way for all fans to be able to experience premium WWE content," said Jayar Donlan, WWE executive vice president, advanced media. "As we continue to reimagine WWE Network's offering, the Free Version will serve as an effective way to reach a broader group of consumers and allow them to experience the history and spectacle of WWE."
Back in late March, the WWE Network ran a promotion featuring free content as well. This is the first of what may be many changes coming to the WWE Network in the near future. There is a lot of content on WWE Network that is locked, and if you're interested in what it offers, you can subscribe for $10 per month. However, it looks like WWE got rid of the one month for free promotion for new subscribers.
