With last year's WWE Hall of Fame ceremony canceled because the company was still trying to figure out how to adjust with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, WWE announced that they will fold last year's with 2021's ceremony, and this year's first announced inductee will be Molly Holly.

An emotional Shane Helms was the first to announce on WWE's The Bump where he delivered the news personally to his former tag-team partner. "My Hurri-senses tell me are going to like this," Helms said through the tears. "It is my esteemed honor and privilege to announce the first inductee into the WWE 2021 Hall of Fame...is you, Mighty Molly Holly."

The former Women's Champion was thrilled and excited about the news. "Oh my gosh, that is awesome! Thank you! This is incredible!"

Holly, real name Nora Benshoof, got her start in WCW as part of Macho Man Randy Savage's Team Madness stable as the aptly named Miss Madness before being part of the Holly cousins Hardcore and Crash. Eventually, she was paired with the Hurricane and became a superhero in training as Mighty Molly and then back to a more serious character under the Molly Holly name once again.

She has won the Hardcore Championship once and is a two-time Women's Champion.

The ceremony will stream Tuesday, April 6 exclusively on Peacock for US fans, but on WWE Network everywhere else. The Class of 2020, full of stars like former WWE Champion Batista, The nWo, The Bella Twins, JBL, "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith, and Japanese cruiserweight legend Jushin “Thunder” Liger will be joining the new class this year.
