After a few months of speculation, WWE confirmed it signed one of AEW's homegrown stars: Jade Cargill.

Former AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill has signed with WWE, first reported by ESPN and then quickly confirmed by WWE itself. Cargill had originally tried out for the sports-entertainment juggernaut a few years ago, but soon signed with rival promotion All Elite Wrestling and made a name for herself within that company in a short matter of time.

Cargill was AEW's longest-reigning TBS champion and appeared on AEW television as recently as two weeks ago. Now she will start with WWE on Tuesday at its Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, and has already signed a multi-year contract.

The rumors that Cargill had signed have been whirling for a while now as she took time away from AEW over the summer and then lost clean to current TBS Champion Kris Statlander in a rematch for the title. Any plans for a debut or scheduled match haven't been announced yet, but it's expected that she could be a major player once she makes her mark.

Cargill began her training at A. R. Fox's WWA4 Academy then went on to train at Heath Miller and Richard Borger's Face 2 Face Wrestling School. From there, she trained at the Nightmare Factory under Q. T. Marshall and Dustin Rhodes. Sonjay Dutt and Bryan Danielson started coaching her when they arrived at All Elite Wrestling in 2021.

Even in her brief time as a full-time wrestler, she managed to grab the number five spot of the top 150 female wrestlers in the PWI Women's 150 in 2022 as well as the 2021 Rookie of the Year.
