Sega Europe and Team 17 launched a competition challenging budding webmasters to design their own Worms fan site. Entrants can download a specially prepared fan site kit from the official Worms 3D Web site, and, should their entry make it into the top-10, they'll receive exclusive materials with which to update their site as the competition enters its final phase. The winner of the competition will receive a Packard Bell 'ixtreme 6093' 2.8GHz PC, and five runners-up will each receive a 'Leadtek A340 FX5200 Ultra TD' graphics card from Nvidia.

"For years, restless kids have spent summer afternoons looking under paving slabs for worms," said Matthew Woodley, European marketing director at Sega Europe. "This is a good chance for fans to get creative with their wriggly friends. We're hoping the entrants will get into the spirit of things and tap into the humor that underlies the game. I'm really looking forward to seeing the results."

Also launched today is another official Worms 3D Web site featuring gameplay information, downloads, minigames, and recipes for worm meatloaf and caramel worm brownies.
