I'm no Red Sox fan but, frankly, I expected more out of the beleagured Bostonians this year. I never would have guessed that Boston would be down 3-0 going into Game 4 against the Yankees as, on paper, the teams match up well with perhaps a slight edge going to the Red Sox. Nonetheless, here we are. Blame The Curse, a gimpy Curt Schilling or a simple choke-job on the part of Manny & Co., but it seems like the Red Sox, barring a miracle, may go down to the hated Yankess. Again. On the National League side of the fence, the Astros/Cardinals series is tied at two games and may go all the way down to the wire.

Whoever squares off in the World Series this year, it's sure to be an exciting series. The GameSpot crew is just as curious as the rest of you as to who will come out on top. As such, we plan on taking the World Series fight to the video game world, to determine just who will prevail and take home the big trophy. WIll it be St. Louis, looking to build off their tremendous regular season play? Perhaps the aforementioned Yankees will take home another set of gold to add to their already overstuffed trophy case. Put your bookie on hold and stay tuned to GameSpot Sports for the full video game prediction of the World Series later this month.

By the way, as long as we're calling shots, I say Cardinals in six over the Yankees.
