Blizzard Entertainment has announced that the total prize pool for the Hearthstone World Championship at BlizzCon 2014 is $250,000. The first place winner will take home $100,000, Blizzard said in a post on the game's website this week (via IGN).

If you're interested in boosting your bank account by six figures, you'll need to advance through a qualifier tournament in America, Europe, China, or Korea/Taiwan. Details about how to qualify vary by your region, but in short, you'll need to be a top player in Ranked Play. Full details on how to qualify and how matches will play out are available on the Hearthstone website.

Four players from each of the four regions (16 players in all) will advance to the Hearthstone World Championship where they will go head-to-head for the top prize. Second place takes home $50,000, while third and fourth get $15,000; fifth through eighth get $7,500; and ninth through sixteenth will leave BlizzCon $5,000 richer. Blizzard will cover the flight and accommodation costs for all 16 finalists.

Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is a free-to-play PC and iOS collectible card game. More than 10 million people have signed up to play the game so far, and it's on schedule to launch for Android later this year. BlizzCon 2014 takes place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California November 7-8.
