World Cyber Games Asian Championship 2011 announced

Sister event to be held in Indonesia, countries include Malaysia, Singapore, and India.

Gamers may recall that the official World Cyber Games 2011 grand finals will be held this December in Busan Metropolitan City, South Korea. Organizers Rapture Gaming recently announced that there will be an Asian equivalent of the event called the World Cyber Games Asian Championship 2011.

According to the recently launched website, the event will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, in the Rasuna Epicentrum Kuningan Super Block from November 9 to 13. The games featured for the championship include Dota in a five-versus-five-player format, Tekken 6 in a one-on-one versus format, and Asphalt 6. First prize for the Dota tournament is $3,000 split among the team, while the first prize for Tekken 6 is $1,000. The player with the highest score on Asphalt 6 will win $1,500.

The Asian countries in the competition include Bangladesh, Hong Kong, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Currently, the Dota tournament in the event has the most participants from the listed countries.
