Wolfenstein: The New Order Sequel Teased Again

Wolfenstein: The New Colossus may be happening.

Wolfenstein: The New Order voice actor Brian Bloom, who played B.J. Blazkowicz in the 2014 game, has teased that a sequel could be on the way. In a new interview with TwoLeftSticks, Bloom said the tease that Bethesda provided at E3 "sparked a wildfire" and that the rumored New Colossus may be in the works.

"If you look at Bethesda's E3 2016 lineup there was a title hinted at in a cool way," Bloom said. "It sparked a bit of wildfire. That subtle, very simple DOS language, going through the titles. Perhaps we're working on that as we speak."

A mock cmd.exe screen flashed on-screen during Bethesda's E3 briefing that showed a rundown of some of the Bethesda releases since the 90s. This included games in the Wolfenstein series, such as Wolfenstein 3D, The New Order, and The Old Blood. It also shows an unknown property called "The New Colossus," with a release date listed as only **-**-**. You can see the image above.

It's not clear what The New Colossus is at the moment--it could be an expansion, a full game, or something else entirely. "New Colossus" may refer to a sonnet by Emma Lazarus, which, in addition to appearing on the base of the Statue of Liberty, was also recited by Wolfenstein protagonist BJ Blazkowicz at the end of The New Order.

A report that emerged in the days before E3 suggested that Bethesda would announce a sequel to The New Order during its briefing, though this didn't happen beyond the teaser.

The New Order was developed by Swedish studio MachineGames, which is owned by Bethesda. Just a month after the game came out, creative director Jens Matthies said the studio has a "very, very clear idea" for what it could do with a sequel. "We would love to do a sequel," he added.

In September 2015, Alicja Bachleda-Curus, who played Anya Oliwa in The New Order, said she's working on a "second one" that could launch in 2017.

You should tell that to your title Eddie, you embarrassment.

If you are unsure if this is a sequel then WHY are you claiming its a sequel tease on the title?!?

God I fucking hate these click-bait articles.

No MP...no buy. Not paying $60 for a 12 hour FPS Campaign. Just doesn't make sense not to have MP for a game like this.

Avatar image for biggamerdude

@Gravity_Slave: then dont pay 60 dollars. Wait a while.

Avatar image for nygamespotter

@Gravity_Slave: I really fucking hope it doesn't have MP.

Get in! Loved the first one.

It's got loads of character considering it is a FPS, which have really started to get stale the last few years.

I can't wait to play this. By far one of the best shooters of the decade.

As long as he hasn't been catatonic for 14 years at the beginning of THIS game, I'm down with another in the series.

Best SP shooter of 2014. Like, surprisingly good by the middle & end-game... Never thought I'd get so attached to the faceless lug from the first FPS (on 3.5" floppy, BITD).

The Expansion was significantly harder, and I loved that too. Last half was SOOOOO good.

If anyone hasn't played these -- on ANY difficulty level you're comfortable with -- rent, buy, buy used, or whatever you can afford and get it done.
