Wolfenstein: The New Order 2 Teased By Voice Actress

Polish actress strongly suggests she's working on a sequel, to be released in 2017.

The voice actress who played a central character in Bethesda's 2014 shooter Wolfenstein: The New Order has hinted strongly that a sequel to the Machine Games-developed title is on the way. Alicja Bachleda-Curus, who played B.J. Blazkowicz's friend Anya Oliwa in The New Order, said in an interview with Polish media that she's working on a "second one" that could launch in 2017.

"I'm working on a video game, first part of which I have already made," she told Poland's TVN, as reported by Eurogamer. "Now we're making a second one, which will take two more years. I played this game as a child. I was very happy when I got to the point where I could shoot Hitler."

Bethesda has not announced a sequel to The New Order, but this isn't the first time the subject has come up. In June 2015, The New Order creative director Jens Matthies said Machine Games has a "very clear idea" for a sequel, which he would "love" to make if given the opportunity. According to Matthies, whether or not Machine Games gets to make a sequel depends on the financial success of the first game.

Bethesda has not shared sales numbers for The New Order. During its launch month, May 2014, it was the fourth best-selling game of the month in the United States, behind MLB 14: The Show, Mario Kart 8, and Watch Dogs. For more on The New Order, check out GameSpot's review.

Of course, it won't be called New Order 2, it would be ridiculous. ..

She should be careful what she teases, we know what Bethesda are like (and what allegedly happened with Erik Todd Dellums...)

@sofajockey: Doubtful they would sack her and this seems like a publicity stunt by Beth just them using her to get that excitement out for it.

EXCELLENT... I absolutely loved The New Order -- it's absolutely one of the most satisfying games of 2014. I just finished the expansion last month, and it was every bit as satisfying (even a bit harder, IMO).

I'm glad to hear they'll be taking their time on it. The care in level design, writing, and fluid/responsive controls means everything when you're playing their games. Machine Games FTW!

Honestly, I don't know why there's always such secrecy. I mean, a sequel to successful game is about as surprising as the sun coming up in the east. It's bigger news when a successful game DOESN'T get a sequel. They should just come right out and say "Yup, we know you liked the game, we know you want another, we're on it!" right off the bat and stop all this dancing around.

@olddadgamer: I hear you, but they also don't need to have daily spoilercasts like Halo 5 and Destiny. I'm frankly so sick of hearing about these games that I'm already bored with Halo 5 -- and it doesn't release for ~6 more weeks.

So them keeping quiet is a net-positive IMO.

The New Order and The Old Blood are two of my favourite shooters of the past years - They don' take themselves seriously and shooting feels very powerful and rewarding.

Can't wait for what Machine Games is developing now.

Playing through The New Order right now. Loving the alternate history stuff and the little newspaper clippings you can find around the place. My only criticism is that the Nazi tech in 1946 was a little too advanced. I'm struggling to understand how they could have built a giant walking automated death machine in just a couple of years using 1940's manufacturing processes and skillsets, even with designs stolen from the Da'at Yichud.

It's amazing how game play mechanics that have been done to death can still be entertaining when done properly.

@GreenMan: The same way America built tons of gigantic aircraft carriers way bigger than that big robot. Plus the nazi's in TNO had slave labor.

F*ck YEAH! Loved The New Order!

I want to see how BJ made it out at the end. If he even did.......would be strange if he wasn't in the next one after all this time.

I think calling Anya Blazkowicz's friend isn't the most accurate way to describe their relationship...
