The voice actress who played a central character in Bethesda's 2014 shooter Wolfenstein: The New Order has hinted strongly that a sequel to the Machine Games-developed title is on the way. Alicja Bachleda-Curus, who played B.J. Blazkowicz's friend Anya Oliwa in The New Order, said in an interview with Polish media that she's working on a "second one" that could launch in 2017.

"I'm working on a video game, first part of which I have already made," she told Poland's TVN, as reported by Eurogamer. "Now we're making a second one, which will take two more years. I played this game as a child. I was very happy when I got to the point where I could shoot Hitler."

Bethesda has not announced a sequel to The New Order, but this isn't the first time the subject has come up. In June 2015, The New Order creative director Jens Matthies said Machine Games has a "very clear idea" for a sequel, which he would "love" to make if given the opportunity. According to Matthies, whether or not Machine Games gets to make a sequel depends on the financial success of the first game.

Bethesda has not shared sales numbers for The New Order. During its launch month, May 2014, it was the fourth best-selling game of the month in the United States, behind MLB 14: The Show, Mario Kart 8, and Watch Dogs. For more on The New Order, check out GameSpot's review.
