This morning, Activision announced that it would be publishing a first-person role-playing game based on the work of D.W. Bradley this fall. The game, called Wizards & Warriors, is currently in development at Heuristic Park, the same team responsible for Wizardry V, VI, VIII.

"Wizards & Warriors is the ultimate fusion of an epic storyline with a classic role-playing experience," said Activision executive VP Mitch Lasky. "For Wizards & Warriors, D.W. Bradley has created a rich, story-driven RPG where character development, role playing and decision making are the cornerstones of the gameplay."

The game marks an interesting twist on classic RPGs by including what Activision calls "Adaptive Time-Phasing." ATP lets players go through the game at their own pace, and it will shift the game's speed from turn-based to full real time on the fly. Characters will be chosen from one of eleven clans, which include humans, elves, and lizardmen. These characters can then be customized to fit one of 15 classes, like wizards and ninjas.

Activision will ship Wizards & Warriors this fall and is expected to showcase the RPG at this year's E3.
