The first WitcherCon will be held on July 9, offering updates on the Netflix series and other Witcher media. The announcement came with a teaser that featured both Geralt from the game series and Geralt as portrayed by Henry Cavill in the Netflix series.

The event is a "global virtual celebration of The Witcher," according to the official website, and it will feature surprises and new looks--but not a new game announcement.

Segments will include deep-dives into the making of various Witcher media, including games and series, as well as an anime film. There will also be new reveals for the Netflix series and "expert explorations" on lore and fictional monsters and legends.

Netflix's The Witcher is based on the Andrzej Sapkowski's novel, which also inspired CD Projekt Red's video game series. Production on Season 2 of the Netflix show wrapped up earlier this year, and you can watch a celebratory video with some new behind-the-scenes footage below.

CD Projekt Red's latest video game was Cyberpunk 2077, which launched in December 2020 with technical issues and record-breaking sales. More recently, CD Projekt Red shared an update on the security breach it suffered in February 2021.
