Thanks GameSpot for the awesome video stream of the awards. It really put a human face on the game industry showing just how passionate they are about creating games and how it transcends to another level where so many people are touched in a positive manner.

I love the world and the variety of main/side quests in Witcher 3, though I found the combat in MGSV and Fallout 4 to be much more entertaining.

I played Fallout 4 all the way to the end and basically enjoyed it, plus I'm looking forward to playing it again after all DLC and lots of cool mods have appeared. I played The Witcher 3 for a little while, then found it to be tedious, frustrating, and extremely linear (plus the female characters are laughable), so I gave up on it. Go figure.

@debidalio:Wild At Heart - Side Quest

    that has two possible ending..
    It is extremely linear.

@slappy54: Every time I tried to go "off the path" I got killed. I found it necessary to follow along a certain route just to be able to progress. I gave up when I encountered this giant troll or some such in a cave where my female companion was basically useless (screaming about rats? really?) and I couldn't figure out how to deal with it. The game became no fun.

Yikes, any body that had Shadow of Mordor as the GOTY for 2014 should be ignored completely....lol....that said, Witcher was one of my top 4 games in 2015 (Mordor wouldn't be in my top 10), so decent choice.

    Avatar image for deactivated-58183aaaa31d8

@Daelusca: That's because 2014 was one of the worst years in the history of gaming. They HAD to have something as GOTY. The fact it was Shadow of Mordor shows how abysmal 2014 really was.

    Avatar image for Daelusca

@dexda: lol...as a true RPG fan, I will take 2014 and DA:I and Divinity over anything 2015 had to offer (only PoE)....if RPG is your genre it is not a contest...if it isn't, I get it.

    Avatar image for deactivated-58183aaaa31d8

@Daelusca: DA:I what a joke. I've never played such a boring set of quests in my entire life. Sure the characters were unique but as soon as the dialogue and cut-scenes stop it bores me into a coma.

    Avatar image for cboye18
    cboye18

@Daelusca: True, that game had a horrible combat system yet every reviewer so far disguised it with praising the nemesis system. It's so broken that you can actually turn of your screen or tv and still beat the crap out of them orcs.

To be honest there not been that good games in last 2 years. Its all been sequels after sequels. TW3 is too overrated with many bugs.

@Daelusca: all bethesda games had more bugs

    Avatar image for Daelusca
    Daelusca

@razecah12: lol...I recognize Bethesda bugs, from Skyrim to all Fallouts, but Witcher was, hands down worse then them....worst inventory system I have ever encountered, horrible, horrible movement mechanics...trying to loot anything or just get away from the damn candles was almost impossible, skiing down every hill (impossible to fall), combat was loose and clunky at the same time (no easy feat!)...look, I get why it is so popular...as I said, I loved the game, but to overlook its obvious and many flaws is fanboy stuff...the game had an amazing atmosphere and if that is what immerses you (and it is for a lot of people) you may never see the flaws....but they were there aplenty.

@xdeathclawx: I no it came out in 2013 but last game I really, really enjoyed was Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Even completed it twice.

I did like The division Beta and probably best demo I played in ages. I got 3 hours in it and what I played I liked even on my own. But I am still waiting for sale for that one. Currently playing fallout 4.

@skipper847:There have been lots of good games over the past 2 years. Problem is though, it seems that the popular thing to do is just hate on everything. Or maybe people are just expecting too much these days.

    Avatar image for skipper847

    @thatguy2001:

I think it that where expecting too much as you say. But some times there not enough as they leave part of game out on purpose for DLC. Elite D been main worst one this last year.

I'm surprised Her Story won so many awards, I still cannot get my head around that games popularity in the media. I finally broke and played it a couple months ago, it bored me to tears and the story was so generic and tedious to get through.

Great to see The Witcher pick up another award though, that really was a fantastic game.
