Will Ferrell And Rachel McAdams Are Terrible Pop Stars In Netflix's Eurovision Song Contest Trailer

The upcoming comedy Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga hits Netflix later this month.

The Eurovision Song Contest is the world's biggest singing competition--it's been running annually since 1956 and is watched by millions of people across the world every year. It's also the focus of Will Ferrell's new Netflix comedy movie, and the first trailer has arrived.

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga stars Ferrell and Rachel McAdams (Game Night) as struggling Icelandic musicians Lars and Sigrit, who perform as the much-derided pop duo Fire Saga. The pair find themselves having to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest, but there's serious competition from flashy singer Alexander Lemtov, played by Dan Stevens (Legion). It looks very, very silly--much like the competition itself. Check the trailer out below.

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga also stars Demi Lovato and Pierce Brosnan, plus Irish chat show host Graham Norton, who plays himself. It's directed by David Dobkin, who is best known for the 2005 comedy hit The Wedding Crashers, and hits Netflix on June 26. The movie was originally intended to be released on the same weekend as this year's real-life contest in May, but when that was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the release date was shifted.
