For Nintendo's original-game service WiiWare, Aksys Games has created Bit.Trip Beat. A rhythm game, Bit.Trip Beat has players pounding out 8-bit-era tunes set to retro-style visuals using the motion-sensing Wii Remote. The game accommodates play for up to four, and is available for 600 Wii points ($6).

Whereas Bit.Trip Beat is a throwback to days gone by, Summer Games II is actually from another gaming age. Originally released for the Commodore 64 in 1985, Summer Games II offers an 8-bit look at Olympic grandeur, offering gamers the chance to compete in eight different events: cycling, equestrian, fencing, high jump, javelin, kayaking, rowing, and triple jump. The 500 Wii point ($5) game features multiplayer action for up to eight, and players can choose from more than a dozen countries.

@pimpbizkit01 ...ok but if YOU know how to use the Wii correctly, the Wii will offer a lot more. -Wii got full Backward Compatibility, do 360/PS3 have?NO! Wii can play NES, SNES, N64 games and more! What do you mean by most??? Not accurate, you absolute .... 360 can only play 465 Xbox games.. PS3 can only play 75% of the PS2 library, and region-locked! -RE4 is playable in PS3 but with weaker graphics, the Wii can play the Best and Original version of RE4 and it's Wii-edition as well, which is better than RE5. -Well, my router's brand is Virgin, the fastest broadband there is, and trust me, the PS3 wouldn't connect oto it, even my Wii, PSP and DS and DSi can! -The Wii is quiet because it's energy saving console, it doesn't consume a lot of electricity. 360 and PS3 does. That's why! ...technology from 5+ years ago? Explain why the Wii got Wi-Fi, Better graphic chip than the Xbox and Gamecube (Strongest Graphics in the 6th Gen.) got AAC support, got a browser, got some good signals and updates of the news and it's accurate Forecast, it even contains the Worlds Forecast and News reporter! Can the 360/PS3 do that? How does the Wii got 12-motion axis, full motion soon) and can control your tv to turn TV's on, switch channels, change volume? The Wii also can conect 12 controllers in a single console! PS3 can only hold 7, 360's can only hold 4. -The Classics, can you play Lost Levels Online? Sin and Punishment? Ocarina of Time? in a flash format? DOUBT IT!

@BLuFAlc0n a.k.a failzbot You pretty much fail trying to make the wii look better.. B.T.W I have all 3 systems. -360/PS3 Offer a lot more compared to the wii -The only full backward compatibility it offers is GC I might have missed the slots to put in my nes, snes carts.. The 360 plays most xbox games and PS3 playes most ps1,ps2 games -You can play RE4 on the PS3 -Never had a prob with PS3 wifi on any of major brand of routers -Wii is quiet since it has technology from 5+ years ago. The PS3 is pretty quiet i.m.o -The classics? lol so you can pay for a over priced game You can find any of the old games in flash format on the web -

oh look, really cheap shovelware crap for Nintendo to try to slam down your throat! Has Nintendo forgotten how to make and license good games? It seems they will slap their name on any steamy pile of crap that comes down the pipes!

Look, to "Wii-Haters", the Wii doesn't suck IF you know how to use it right! Gamers tend to forget about the Wii's capabilities, they only look down to it because it doesn't have games with good graphics (Except for Brawl, Galaxy, Corruption, Okami, Twilight Princess, Mario and Sonic, and more) and most of the games are shocking! But that doesn't mean the Wii is crap, Gamers also tend to ignore it and look to the bad side of it. Also, is it the Wii's fault why there are sooo many bad games made for the Wii? NO!!!!! These bad games are made by slackers! To get easy money! Nintendo really needs to tighten up their "Seal of Quality". Ok so the Wii isn't perfect, are the 360/PS3 perfect? Only the Wii has full backward compatibility (NES, SNES, N64, GC games) You can even play the Original RE4 in the Wii! The Wii itself can hold 12 Conrollers. The Wii has the less consuming electricity The Wii has Wi-Fi, 360's needs Wi-Fi Adaptor for £50, PS3 does, but for some reason wouldn't conect on my router. The Wii is the most quiet console compared to PS3/360. ....and lastly.... The Wii got something that PS3/360 doesn't have.... THE CLASSICS!!!!! *Super Mario Bros. (+2,LL,3,World,54,RPG) *The Legend of Zelda (+2, ALTTP, and **OoT**) *Mega Man (including 9) *Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo (I prefer this than HD Remix) *Sonic *DK *imported games of Japan ...this would be endless.... I kinda agree with kavadias1981.. I can see the point he's making I have to admit this feeling happens to me sometimes about the Wii... That's why I also bought a PS3 @ Xmas '07, but believe me, I still prefer the Wii, just playing Street Fighter 4 so far... except I couldn't connect online w/ my PS3. But if you want revolution, wait up for Wii-Motion Plus! I didn't really like HOTD, but there's, The Conduit, Sin and Punishment 2, and a new 'Mario' and 'Zelda' game.... what else can Nintendo pull off, but I'm proud of Nintendo coz unlike other companies, Nintendo never blackmail companies to release games like Tekken 6 or FFXIII in the Wii, what Nintendo did is being original and pure hard work and EFFORT! Although Nintendo Rocks, they need to do some SERIOUS WORK about games, sort out the "Seal of Quality", it has the WORD "Quality" for a reason you know! The bottom line is.... never judge a console by it's graphics, what you need is decent games, also if the Wii doesn't have any AAA games, explain why the Wii, is the only console which have 2 games in '08 and the whole charts that recieved 40/40 from Famitsu (That would be Super Smash Bros. Brawl and 428 )? How did a Wii game won game of the Year '07 (Super Mario Galaxy), and how does the Wii got the BEST GAME EVER MADE OF ALL TIME (Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, downloadable), think about it? If you know how to use the Wii correctly and look for it's full potential, play the classics, use full features, I bet you wouldn't hated the Wii that much! Learn to appreciate of what consoles you own! Be respective for each one!

Can I just point out that so called "Wii haters" are actually people that own the bloody thing; that is the reason why they dislike it so, because they have the experience of owning it. 2 years ago me and my 2 brothers each bought a Wii. Now, 2 years later, one has been sold, one gathers dust in a spare room and mine sits in my living room but hasn't been switched on in weeks. It's not that I dont support it (refer to my GS game lists) it is that there is absolutely nothing to buy for it anymore. Yeah you can say HOTD overkill or Madworld, but I dont want those games, they just aren't for me. Where is the bloody choice? The reasons for people disliking the thing is that we were expecting this whole big gaming revolution and all we get are a few minigames, a ton of shovelware and the very rare AAA title; it was a big waste of money. The only thing I do respect it for is that it has made gaming more socially acceptable. That's it.

@Caer Death: I totally agree, Wiiware should have demos. It is one of the reasons the XBLA usually gets my DLC money instead of Wiiware. As for the the old-school games, I find myself and old school gamer in the sense I will go back and play games I remember spending my childhood on, but I don't see myself going and playing an Atari 2600 graphics style game that is 'new'... Oh well, it does add variety though which is a good thing for mass market appeal.

wwonka666 - That western shooter game is a little better than GS gave it credit for. It's along the lines of Link's Crossbow Practice. If you like one, you should like the other. Shooting galleries can be fun, and it's something the other systems can't do. My cousin LOVED the skull shooting stage that was a throw back to Duck Hunt clay shooting... Other than that, I wanna try Bit.Trip Beat. Nintendo should offer demos like the other companies. Not sure if that'd hurt profits, but it sure makes people more willing to buy a game download!

xXZak-ataKXx Posted Mar 16, 2009 5:17 pm PT the wii is,CRAP I'm not sure I could have said it better myself. The only game worth playing is House of the Dead: Overkill (it's actually really fun). Madworld got boring after a few minutes and everything else is just minigames or same old same old. I got $12.00 in Wii points I can't even find anything worth spending on. I might break down and buy that Western shooting game.

I agree entirely with sirfried. Nintendo isn't even really releasing NES, SNES, N64 or any other Nintendo systems' games. They already have the licenses to pretty much all of their own games, so why don't we at least see one of them added to the VC every week?

What happened Nintendo? What happened to 3 games a week? Even when we were getting 3 games a week I was complaining. A lot of people were complaining... Whats the deal? Saving all your good titles to be released on your next hardware revision?

Nintendo has announced that two games will be added to its online Wii Shop Channel today, both of which will feature fare aimed at old-school gamers.
