James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan played the British super-spy four times, and with Daniel Craig set to retire from the role after No Time To Die, Brosnan has now weighed in on who might be a good fit to play the part next. Speaking to People, Brosnan started off by saying he has "no idea" about who should get the gig, but he did name two people who he thought could do a good job with the character.

"Idris Elba comes to mind," Brosnan said. "Idris is such a powerful presence and such a great former voice tensity. He would be magnificent. There's Tom Hardy out there as well. Tom can really chew the furntiture up, just be a ball boy--both men can."

Brosnan also spoke about Craig, who took over for Brosnan after Die Another Day. Brosnan said Craig was "magnificent" in the role.

"He truly left an indelible mark on the franchise," Brosnan said, adding that future Bond actors could "go in many different ways" with the character.

But returning to the subject of who's next, Brosnan said to the interviewer, "Your guess is as good as mine."

Officially, there is no word yet on who may step in to play 007 next after Craig steps away. After multiple delays, No Time To Die is slated to come to theaters September 30 in the UK before premiering on October 8 in North America. It's directed by True Detective's Cary Fukunaga, with Oscar-winner Rami Malek lined up to play the villain.
