For Fortnite's Halloween event, Wrath of the Cube Queen, you'll need to launch signal flares in order to complete Ariana Grande's five-part questline. This challenge will earn you 30,000 XP and her whole questline will earn you 150,000 XP, but first, you have to know where to launch signal flares--more specifically three of them. Here's where you'll be heading for this quest.

For this challenge, you'll be traveling all over the island, and you may not launch all three flares in one match as a result. That's okay, though, because there's no requirement to do it in one match. You'll just need to track which flares you've already launched and hit the others in subsequent rounds if needed.

You'll find signal flares at the following locations:

  • At the alien crash site south of Believer Beach
  • At the Weather Station on the snowy mountain south of Catty Corner
  • On a hill just west of the Sheriff's Station

At each location, you'll see a can't-miss quest item that looks like a bundle of fireworks ready for blastoff. Interact with each of them to send them flying into the air, which will signal... someone. Once you've done that with all three, you'll have completed Ariana's quests, earning yourself 150,000 XP and a new pickaxe along the way.

We aren't yet sure what Ariana is up to with her Monster Hunter questline, but it does seem like she makes significant progress during the five-part story. As always with Fortnite, expect an elongated reveal, but a reveal will come one day.

Once you're done with that, you can start to tackle the rest of Wrath of the Cube Queen.
