Where To Buy Nintendo Switch (December 2020): Check Stock At Amazon, GameStop, Walmart, And More

Looking to buy the Nintendo Switch this December, just in time for the holidays? Check the listings here.

Though many people are talking about the pair of next-gen consoles released recently, the Nintendo Switch is still riding a huge wave of popularity as well, and for a while earlier this year, the Switch was as difficult to find in stock as the PS5 and Xbox Series X are now due to increased demand during the pandemic. Though Nintendo Switch stock has certainly started to stabilize, some stores still don't have the console in stock for MSRP ($300), and you'll still find resellers offering it for $200 or more above list price on places like Ebay. If you're looking to buy a Nintendo Switch this month--maybe for yourself, maybe for someone on your Christmas shopping list--you've come to the right place. We're tracking Nintendo Switch availability at all the major retailers so you can find the system in stock at a reasonable price.

The Nintendo Switch rarely gets outright discounts--we saw zero markdowns during Black Friday or Cyber Monday 2020--but you can sometimes find it in neat bundles. Recent, there was a Nintendo Switch bundle that came with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and three months of Nintendo Switch Online for free (sadly, it's now sold out). The Switch also has some neat special editions, including a Fortnite bundle that Nintendo just brought to the US for the first time as well as an adorable Animal Crossing-themed Switch that just reappeared in stores. We expect both of these special editions will sell out in the coming weeks, so if you find one in stock, don't assume you'll be able to find it again later.

If you're looking to buy the Nintendo Switch Lite, you've got even more options, as Switch Lite availability has been more consistent throughout 2020. Costing $200, the Switch Lite is a great option for young gamers and those looking for a handheld system, as it cannot be connected to the TV and does not have detachable Joy-Cons. A gorgeous Coral shade was added to the lineup this year, and we've seen it back in stock recently as well.

At some stores, the Switch is seeing longer delivery times than usual, so you don't want to wait if you're hoping to buy the system in time for Christmas. Check out where you can buy the Nintendo Switch, including the Fortnite and Animal Crossing special editions, below. We're updating this story regularly as availability changes.
