Where To Buy A PS5: Black Friday Restock At Walmart, GameStop, And More

Looking to buy a PS5 over Black Friday and Cyber Monday? We're tracking upcoming restocks from major retailers like Walmart and GameStop.

The big Black Friday 2020 PS5 restocks have come and gone, but that doesn't mean there won't be another opportunity to buy the PS5 before the holidays. The PS5 has been selling out almost instantly at major retailers each time it's been restocked since launch day, but many Black Friday sales run through the weekend leading up next week's Cyber Monday shopping event--while we haven't heard word of another restock just yet, we're holding out hope like the rest of you that there will be another chance to pick one up soon. Sony, for instance, has confirmed that the PS5 will be restocked before the end of the year.

To make your shopping experience easier, we'll be tracking everything we know about where to buy a PS5 through Black Friday weekend and Cyber Monday right here.

Where to buy the PS5 during Black Friday and Cyber Monday

PS5 restock at GameStop

GameStop's in-store-only PS5 stock on Black Friday went about as you'd expect, with dozens of people camping outside of stores for the chance to get their hands on the new PlayStation console. We have no way of knowing what the stock is like at individual stores, so it's worth calling your local GameStop to find out before heading over to one. And remember to wear a facemask if you do decide to visit the store. The situation at GameStop outside of the in-person inventory is tough--a number of restocks have gone up on GameStop's website in the form of expensive console bundles, but they sell out pretty quickly. We have no knowledge of any upcoming restocks.

PS5 restock at Walmart

Walmart restocked the PS5 mid-week during its big Black Friday sale, but the consoles sold out within two minutes. The PS5 listings now say the consoles are "out of stock" at Walmart, and there's no information on when PS5 stock will next be available. Walmart has kept all of its restocks online-only so far, so you likely won't find the PS5 in Walmart stores this Black Friday. It's possible a restock could come before Christmas, but the store hasn't indicated anything yet.

PS5 restock at Best Buy

Best Buy has confirmed it will not have any PS5 units in stores throughout the entire holiday season, so you won't see the PS5 in any Best Buy brick-and-mortar stores until 2021. Though the PS5 appears in Best Buy's Black Friday ad, the retailer would not confirm Black Friday availability to GameSpot and said that stock will be available on BestBuy.com when they get more units. We have also seen stock go up without much warning prior to Black Friday, including in the middle of the night. Keep an eye out and you might be able to score one ahead of time.

PS5 restock at other retailers

PlayStation Direct has been running queues on its site nearly every day since launch, but finding a queue on PS Direct doesn't necessarily mean the PS5 is in stock; it simply indicates high traffic to the store. It never hurts to jump in and wait if you find the queue and you'll be at your computer for a while, but know there's no guarantee it'll be in stock by the time you get through.

Of course, you can always find the PS5 and its accessories on reseller sites like StockX and Ebay. As expected, scalpers have been cashing in on the situation by hoarding the PS5 and selling them for hundreds of dollars more than their MSRP. Resell prices at StockX are currently between $800 and $900, though you can place bids to buy the console for less. The site has plenty of stock, so if you're desperate, it's worth checking out to see if you can negotiate a decent price. All the hoarding and reselling makes the average shopper's ability to buy a PS5 before the holidays even more of headache, so if you'd rather not support that, then keep checking back here. We'll be updating this story with official word from major retailers as we learn more about potential restocks.

Where to buy PS5 accessories

The Pulse 3D wireless headset was the first PS5 accessory to sell out at major retailers, but there are still a number of great headsets you can buy to go along with your new PS5. The Turtle Beach Recon 200 is on sale for $30 at Best Buy, for instance. However, other official PS5 accessories, like the media remote and DualSense charging station, are proving popular as well, and remain out of stock. Check out where you can snag all the official PS5 accessories currently in stock in our Black Friday guide linked above.

Where to buy PS5's biggest games

Quite a few PS5 games are available now, including launch titles like Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon's Souls. Check out some of the biggest PS5 games available to purchase in one of our guides linked above. Keep in mind that many PS4 games come with free next-gen upgrades and are currently discounted, making them the better deal.
