Where Is Xur Today? (Oct. 22-26) - Destiny 2 Xur Location And Exotics Guide
Gear up for Haunted Lost Sectors and the new Trials of Osiris Freelance mode with new Exotics from Xur.
With Destiny 2's new Legendary Astral Alignments, Legendary Shattered Realms, Haunted Lost Sectors, and Freelance Trials of Osiris, there's a whole lot to do--and a lot of good reasons to grab some new Exotics to face their challenges. Here's where you can find Exotics vendor Xur this weekend, and everything he's offering to help you fill out your arsenal. [Update: This trip is over, but Xur will return on October 29 with new items and likely in a new location.]
Head to Nessus, to Watcher's Grave area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering Graviton Lance. Hunters can pick up the Oathkeeper gauntlets; for Titans, there's the Ursa Furiosa gauntlets; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Lunafaction Boots leg armor.
Apart from his Exotics, Xur once again has a couple of standout Legendary weapons you might consider scooping up. The first to look for is Xur's Main Ingredient fusion rifle, with perks that can increase its range and Snapshot Sights and High-Impact Reserves, making it pretty deadly for PvP. Next, Xur has a solid roll on Bottom Dollar, with Subsistence to keep ammo in the magazine and Explosive Payload, which is great for creating some flinch on your targets. Both guns have a Stability Masterwork, which isn't the best option but is handy especially for console players. Finally, the Temptation's Hook sword in Xur's inventory carries both Whirlwind Blade for increased damage and Tireless Blade for retaining sword ammo, making it a decent option in the Caster frame category.
As for Legendary armor, Xur is sporting the Kairos Function set. If you're looking to fill in your collection for transmogrification, you'll want to snap up these pieces, since they're currently not available anywhere else in the game. Hunters will find a couple of high-stat options in the helmet and leg armor; the boots are particularly noteworthy because they carry a very high Intellect stat for faster Supers. Things are less exciting for Warlocks and Titans, who will find decent rolls on armor if you need to fill some gaps, but no must-haves.
Make your way to the Watcher's Grave transmat zone on Nessus to find Xur this week. Hop on your sparrow and head to the north end, where you'll see a big tree with pink moss growing on it. Park and climb up onto the branches of the tree and you'll find Xur on a big flat one on its south side, looking out over the area below.
Xur returns to the solar system every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. The thing is, where he'll land isn't known until he actually arrives. Xur can hang out at one of several locations, including in the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher's Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ. Xur's inventory also changes each week, so it's worth revisiting him on the weekends for new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.
Xur Exotic Items
Xur is offering Graviton Lance this week, a powerful Void pulse rifle that blows people up, spraying damaging projectiles to kill even more people. It's a solid PvP and PvE offering if pulses are your thing, especially with its Exotic Catalyst completed. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it--so if you're trying to get a new Titan helmet, don't buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.
- Exotic Engram -- 97 legendary shards
- Graviton Lance -- 29 legendary shards
- Oathkeeper -- 23 legendary shards
- Ursa Furiosa -- 23 legendary shards
- Lunafaction Boots -- 23 legendary shards
- Xenology quest -- free
- Legendary weapons and armor -- 50 legendary shards, 1,000 Glimmer
Each week, Xur offers one Exotic weapon and three pieces of Exotic armor: one for each character class. The inventory is random, as are the stat rolls you can expect on each of his armor offerings, so if you're looking to fill out your collection or if you're hoping for better versions of Exotics you already have, it's worth visiting him. Xur also offers an Exotic Engram, but it won't decrypt into Exotics you have to earn through activities, including the new Exotic armors added each season, which can only be claimed from Legendary or Master Lost Sectors.
Graviton Lance (Pulse Rifle)
The trick with Graviton Lance is careful shot placement. Like other pulses, it kicks off a three-round burst when fired, but it's the second shot of the three that you want to worry about. That middle shot creates a mini black hole in the enemy you hit, which does extra damage and doesn't suffer from damage fall-off--so you want to position your bursts to start high in the chest of enemies so your second shot nails the head for extra precision damage. Kill an enemy with Graviton Lance and you'll create Void projectiles from the corpse, which track nearby enemies, as well. That makes this a great gun for crowd control at range, whether you're devastating a group of Thralls or a group of Guardians.
To use bows well in Destiny 2, you need to understand their timing. A full "charge" with an arrow does the most damage and flies the farthest, but also requires you to prep the weapon ahead of when you want to shoot--you need a second to pull that string back, but pull it too early, and you might miss your shot when your arrow eventually lets fly early on its own. Oathkeeper mitigates that issue for Hunters, allowing you to hold your arrows for as long as you need to, allowing you to make sure you have a full charge while waiting around a corner or preparing an ambush. Archery fans can find some solid uses for it, like infinitely extending Wish-Ender's ability to see through walls, so if you've got a bow build, you might want to grab this one.

Ursa Furiosa (Titan)
Though Bungie nerfed Ursa Furiosa and similar Exotics not long ago, this one still remains a go-to for Titans in high-difficulty content such as Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes. The gauntlets make your Sentinel Shield Super more effective, allowing you to move faster while you've got it deployed. Any damage you block with the shield gets converted back to Super energy, giving you as much as 50% Super energy back when you've finished using it, while dumping Orbs of Power on your teammates as well. That makes this a great option when you've got to absorb a ton of damage to protect your team, allowing your whole fireteam to get their Supers back as quickly as possible.

Lunafaction Boots (Warlock)
Even today, Lunafaction Boots are an Exotic that should be in every Warlock's kit for taking on high-level PvE activities. When you're wearing them, your rifts allow you and your teammates to reload your guns much more quickly, which is great for dumping damage on bosses during DPS phases. Guns also get a range boost when you use Lunafaction Boots with Empowering rifts, making it possible to stand further away from targets and avoid taking damage yourself. Especially in raids, Lunafactions can be a great addition to the fireteam's gear, and Xur is offering a decent roll on these, so consider picking them up.
