Now Playing: Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Where is Xur March 18, 2022

Head to Nessus's Watcher's Grave area to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering The Colony grenade launcher. Hunters can pick up the Sealed Ahamkara Grasps gauntlets; for Titans, there's the Peregrine Grieves leg armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Chromatic Fire chest armor.

Unfortunately, Xur's armor is bugged yet again this week, coming in with unusually low total stats. Bungie acknowledged the bug in its latest This Week at Bungie blog post, but until there's a fix, you can skip all of Xur's Exotic and Legendary armor. The only exception to that rule would be to fill out your Exotic collection with items you don't already have, but even then, you might want to wait or try to get them through his Exotic Engram.

The gun to look out for from Xur this week is Hawkmoon, which comes with Opening Shot, making it a nice roll for PvP. Polymer Grip helps boost its handling, while Alloy Magazine speeds reload when the magazine is empty, which will be most of the time if you're using Hawkmoon effectively. If you want a decent version of this to take into the Crucible, Xur has one.

As for Dead Man's Tale, you can buy one with Subsistence this week from Xur, which is a lot of fun for PvE situations as you knock out enemies and stake Cranial Spike buffs. It's not the best Crucible roll, but you'll have fun with it out in the solar system.

Xur's Legendary weapons are pretty mediocre this week, although The Swarm machine gun is back again, which you can normally only earn from Nightfall Strikes, and which is not currently in the loot rotation for the Season of the Risen. It carries One for All and Killing Wind, with a Reload Masterwork--same as last week. Nothing else Xur is packing is worth getting especially excited for, although a few might help in certain departments. His Ikelos_SMG_V1.0.2 submachine gun isn't bad for PvE activities with Disruption Break, Subsistence, and a Range Masterwork, as that'll chew through minor enemies real nice. Similarly, you could put in some work in PvE content with Xur's Eternal Blazon scout rifle, which packs Overflow and Rangefinder with a Reload Masterwork. But none of these are must-haves.

As mentioned, Xur's Legendary Armor falls under the "skip" column again this week, unless you're sourcing armor pieces to up your fashion game. He's got the Lightkin set from the Season of the Splicer, but their total stats are even lower this week than last week at 46. Hopefully Bungie gets this issue sorted soon.

Xur Location

Look for Xur in the big pink tree at the north end of Watcher's Grave.
Look for Xur in the big pink tree at the north end of Watcher's Grave.

Start at the Watcher's Grave transmat zone, jump on your sparrow, and head north. At the far end of the area, stop next to the tree clad in pink moss. Climb up onto the big flat branch that overlooks the area and you'll find Xur waiting.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher's Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Xur Exotic and Legendary Items

Xur offers The Colony this week, a barrel-loading grenade launcher that has long been a handy mainstay in the Crucible. The Exotic fires grenades that have spider legs, allowing them to chase enemies down to blow them up--which is always a good time. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own from the world drop pool. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it--so if you're trying to get a new Titan helmet, don't buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

Exotic Gear

  • Exotic Engram - 97 legendary shards
  • The Colony - 29 legendary shards
  • Sealed Ahamkara Grasps - 23 legendary shards
  • Peregrine Greaves - 23 legendary shards
  • Chromatic Fire - 23 legendary shards
  • Hawkmoon - 200 legendary shards, 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Cipher
  • Dead Man's Tale - 200 legendary shards, 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Cipher
  • Xenology quest - free
  • Legendary weapons and armor - 50 legendary shards, 1,000 Glimmer

Alongside changes in his location, Xur's inventory also rotates weekly. That means it's worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.

The Colony (Grenade Launcher)

Spider grenades that chase down opponents are always hilarious.
Spider grenades that chase down opponents are always hilarious.

The Colony has been an extremely reliable Exotic for almost the entirety of Destiny 2. It's a grenade launcher that fires seeking grenades--in fact, they're actually tiny spider robots that will physically chase your prey when you fire them. That's extremely useful in the Crucible, where The Colony can often guarantee you at least one kill, provided you can get ahold of Heavy ammo. It's not the most in-vogue of Exotics right now, but if you want something fun to take into a Control match, The Colony won't steer you wrong.

Sealed Ahamkara Grasps (Hunter)

Reload your guns by punching your way through enemies with Sealed Ahamkara Grasps.
Reload your guns by punching your way through enemies with Sealed Ahamkara Grasps.

Hunters aren't usually a melee-heavy class, but with the right build and Exotics, you can punch enemies just as well as any Titan. Sealed Ahamkara Grasps play into that fantasy, and with the new Void 3.0 rework, you can probably get some great use out of this one. Its function is simple: Damage an enemy with a melee to reload your current weapon. That's simple but potentially highly useful, especially when using Gambler's Dodge or smoke grenades to stun and confuse opponents. Unfortunately, you'll want to skip this stat roll thanks to Xur's ongoing armor bug issue.

Stats:

  • Mobility: 7
  • Resilience: 11
  • Recovery: 6
  • Discipline: 6
  • Intellect: 2
  • Strength: 16
  • Total: 48

Peregrine Greaves (Titan)

Smack enemies with your powered Titan melee attacks for bonus damage with Peregrine Greaves.
Smack enemies with your powered Titan melee attacks for bonus damage with Peregrine Greaves.

Titans' powered melee strikes are already pretty great, but with Peregrine Greaves, you can make your Shield Bash, Seismic Strike, and Hammer Strike even stronger. The Exotic gives you bonus damage to your melees when you activate them while airborne, which can be tricky to get the hang of, but pays dividends once you do--particularly now that Titan melee attacks have been made a little less powerful in the Crucible.

Stats:

  • Mobility: 13
  • Resilience: 13
  • Recovery: 2
  • Discipline: 6
  • Intellect: 6
  • Strength: 12
  • Total: 52

Chromatic Fire (Warlock)

Chromatic Fire gives all your Kinetic precision kills a Dragonfly-like explosion.
Chromatic Fire gives all your Kinetic precision kills a Dragonfly-like explosion.

Chromatic Fire can be a great option in PvE fights. With the Exotic equipped, your Kinetic weapon precision kills--headshots, in other words--cause those enemies to explode. The energy type of the explosion is dictated by your subclass, but the ability to detonate enemies quickly and efficiently makes Chromatic Fire a fun Exotic for clearing out rooms of enemies.

Stats:

  • Mobility: 6
  • Resilience: 8
  • Recovery: 11
  • Discipline: 6
  • Intellect: 6
  • Strength: 10
  • Total: 47
