Xur returns in Destiny 2 this weekend, bringing a new slate of Exotic weapons and armor to the Solar System. If you're planning to take on the new Crucible Labs Control Zone game mode that's coming to PvP next week, it's a great time to get new gear. That's particularly true if you're a Hunter--there's some great Legendary armor for Hunters to grab this week. Here's where you can find Xur this weekend and what he's selling.

Now Playing: Destiny 2 Xur Guide June 17, 2022

Head to the Watcher's Grave area of Nessus to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering Crimson. Hunters can pick up Gemini Jester leg armor; Titans can grab the Aeon Safe gauntlets; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Vesper of Radius chest armor.

Xur Location

Look for Xur in the big pink tree on Nessus this week.

Spawn in at the Watcher's Grave transmat zone to find Xur this week. From there, hop on your sparrow and head north toward the exit out of the area. You'll pass a big tree with pink moss on the right side of the area. Climb to the top and you'll find Xur standing on one of the big, broad branches.

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher's Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.

Xur Exotic and Legendary Items

Xur offers an old favorite that's still very reliable in the Crucible: Crimson. The hand cannon fires a three-round burst instead of a single shot--the only hand cannon to do so in the game--and heals you on kills, making it great for PvP. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own from the world drop pool. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it--so if you're trying to get a new Titan helmet, don't buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

  • Exotic Engram - 97 legendary shards
  • Crimson - 29 legendary shards
  • Gemini Jester - 23 legendary shards
  • Aeon Safe - 23 legendary shards
  • Vesper of Radius - 23 legendary shards
  • Hawkmoon - 200 legendary shards, 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Cipher
  • Dead Man's Tale - 200 legendary shards, 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Cipher
  • Xenology quest - free
  • Legendary weapons and armor - 50 legendary shards, 1,000 Glimmer

Alongside changes in his location, Xur's inventory also rotates weekly. That means it's worth visiting him each time to check out his new weapons and rolls on Exotic and Legendary armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the Solar System.

Xur offers a pretty solid Hawkmoon this week with Opening Shot, although it generally favors Handling over Range, so this might not be the PvP roll you're looking for. As for Dead Man's Tale, this is also a strong roll with Fourth Time's the Charm, which can definitely serve well in both PvP and PvE, feeding rounds back in your magazine as a reward for landing headshots. Both are good but neither is a god roll, so these are pickups mostly if they fit a specific playstyle or need for you.

For Legendary weapons, Xur's Brass Attacks sidearm is solid with Feeding Frenzy and Sympathetic Arsenal, but has the weird outlier Accuracy Masterwork that keeps popping up in Xur weapons--the novelty and possible bugginess alone makes it worth picking up and testing. The Gnawing Hunger auto rifle Xur offers isn't perfect, but it's a decent one if you want what is still one of the best auto rifles in the game--it carries Zen Moment and Multikill Clip with a Range Masterwork. The Extraordinary Rendition submachine gun is one you should absolutely pick up if you missed it from the Season of the Chosen, with Subsistence, Multikill Clip, and a Stability Masterwork making it a workhorse in PvE and probably fairly useful in PvP, too. The other guns are mostly at your discretion; First in, Last Out has been a great slug shotgun for boss DPS in the past, for instance, and this roll with Pulse Monitor, Vorpal Weapon, and a Stability Masterwork isn't too bad, although Auto-loading Holster would be better.

Xur has the Genysm Knight set for Legendary armor this week, which was formerly available from Asher Mir on Io; if you didn't get it before Io vanished at the start of the Beyond Light campaign, now's your chance to complete your collection. Hunters have a bunch of great armor options this week, especially if you're looking to boost your Resilience stat, so get to Nessus and make some purchases.

Crimson is a great Crucible go-to, thanks to its high damage, extra rounds, and healing capabilities.

If you're looking for a gun to carry you through the Crucible, especially as you're learning the ropes or trying to improve your skills, you can't go wrong with Crimson. It's the only hand cannon you can get in Destiny 2 that fires a three-round burst, similar to a pulse rifle, instead of one single shot--which means you can get away with being a little less accurate in gunfights. If you land a kill with Crimson, you'll receive a burst of healing that helps you survive your next gunfight. Land a precision kill, and Crimson's magazine is reloaded, too, making you a force to be reckoned with in PvP.

Gemini Jester (Hunter)

Bring chaos and confusion to your enemies with Gemini Jester.
Bring chaos and confusion to your enemies with Gemini Jester.

Hunters be dodging. With a high mobility stat, you can dodge quite a lot in most situations, making you tough to kill, reloading your guns for free, or recharging your melee attacks. Gemini Jester throws in another benefit: When you dodge near an enemy, they become disoriented and their radar is temporarily removed. Use that in the Crucible to throw off your enemies, or in PvE to ruin a Dreg's day before you pop their noggin.

Stats:

  • Mobility: 18
  • Resilience: 14
  • Recovery: 2
  • Discipline: 16
  • Intellect: 2
  • Strength: 13

Aeon Safe (Titan)

Aeon Exotics have become a lot more useful since Bungie buffed them, particularly if multiple members of your fireteam go in on the armor.
Aeon Exotics have become a lot more useful since Bungie buffed them, particularly if multiple members of your fireteam go in on the armor.

Aeon Safe, like the other Aeon Exotics, confer a handful of different benefits depending on which of their specialized mods you equip. Lately, the mod that has made them most useful one that allows you to generate Heavy ammo when using Finishers on elite-level enemies, making this a great Exotic for high-level content like raids, dungeons, and Grand Master Nightfall Strikes. Everybody should have a set of these, so while this isn't the best roll on Aeon Safe, it's still good to have in your collection.

  • Mobility: 9

Vesper Of Radius (Warlock)

Zap enemies with your rifts when wearing Vesper of Radius.
Zap enemies with your rifts when wearing Vesper of Radius.

If your build relies on a lot of rifts, Vesper of Radius can be very useful. The Exotic generates an Arc shockwave when you cast rifts, giving them some offensive capability, particularly when you're in the thick of battle. If you're surrounded by enemies, your rift energy also recharges faster, giving you an incentive to jump into the fray and start zapping enemies while healing or empowering yourself and your teammates.
