Update: Xur has left the solar system with this batch of Exotics. Here's where you can find Xur and what Exotics he's offering for the weekend of July 16.

The Solstice of Heroes is well underway in Destiny 2, bringing a bunch of new armor pieces and cosmetics for players to chase. The objectives will take you through a bunch of activities in the game, so you're going to want to stock up on Exotics to give yourself the best chance for success.

Head to Nessus, to the Watcher's Grave area, to find Xur this week. For his weapon, Xur is offering Fighting Lion. Hunters can pick up The Sixth Coyote chest armor; for Titans, there's the Armamentarium chest armor; and for Warlocks, Xur has the Wings of Sacred Dawn chest armor.

Xur Location

Use the Nessus transmat location in Watcher's Grave, then hop on your sparrow and head north. Pass Caiatl's land tank and head for the big pink tree at the north end of the area. Climb up onto its branches to find Xur standing above the whole area.

Xur can be found on the big giant tree at the north end of Watcher's Grave on Nessus.

Xur returns to the solar system every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. Xur's inventory also changes each week, so it's worth revisiting him on the weekends for new weapons and rolls on Exotic armor. You can visit him any time between his arrival Friday and the weekly reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET the following Tuesday when Xur departs the solar system.

Xur Exotic Items

Breech-loading grenade launchers have become pretty awesome in Destiny 2, and one of the best remains Fighting Lion. It's a powerful launcher that requires some skill to use, but it's great in both PvE activities, thanks to its shield-busting capabilities, and in the Crucible. If you're not a fan of his other options, Xur also sells an Exotic engram that will decrypt into an Exotic you don't already own. Just note that you can only buy one per week, and the engram is specific to the character class who buys it--so if you're trying to get a new Titan helmet, don't buy the engram with your Warlock. He also has the new Xenology Quest, which rewards an Exotic Cipher you can use to purchase Exotics from either Xur or the Tower's Monument to Lost Lights. The quest requires you to either complete Strikes or win matches in Gambit and the Crucible.

  • Exotic Engram -- 97 legendary shards
  • Fighting Lion -- 29 legendary shards
  • The Sixth Coyote -- 23 legendary shards
  • Armamentarium -- 23 legendary shards
  • Wings of Sacred Dawn -- 23 legendary shards
  • Xenology quest -- free

Each week, Xur offers one Exotic weapon and three pieces of Exotic armor: one for each character class. The inventory is random, as are the stat rolls you can expect on each of his armor offerings, so if you're looking to fill out your collection or if you're hoping for better versions of Exotics you already have, it's worth visiting him. Xur also brings an Exotic Engram, which is guaranteed to drop something you don't already have, if there are Exotics missing from your collection on that particular character--but that doesn't include Exotics you have to earn through activities, including the new Exotic armors added each season, which can only be claimed from Legendary or Master Lost Sectors.

Fighting Lion (Grenade Launcher)

If you're good at bouncing grenades around the battlefield, you can thrash enemies anywhere with Fighting Lion.
If you're good at bouncing grenades around the battlefield, you can thrash enemies anywhere with Fighting Lion.

Fighting Lion's ability to delay grenade detonations makes it extremely deadly all over the solar system. The grenade launcher lets you bounce its projectiles off walls and around corners, providing you the opportunity to surprise enemies--especially Guardians in the Crucible. It's also great in PvE activities, as direct hits with Fighting Lion's grenades to deal bonus damage to shields, allowing you to smash through even tough enemies without much difficulty. So in just about any situation, you can get a lot of utility out of Fighting Lion. Just know you'll need to develop some skills in bouncing grenades around corners if you want to maximize your effectiveness.

The Sixth Coyote (Hunter)

With Hunter dodge bonuses, The Sixth Coyote can make you tricky and deadly to fight in the Crucible.
With Hunter dodge bonuses, The Sixth Coyote can make you tricky and deadly to fight in the Crucible.

The bonus you get from The Sixth Coyote is a simple one: it provides you with another Hunter dodge. Combined with high mobility stats and Hunter dodge bonuses like instant reload, the Exotic can work extremely well in different Hunter builds to help you avoid fire and get your guns back into the fight as quickly as possible. This is also a relatively high stat roll for a Xur Exotic, so this is a copy of The Sixth Coyote that's worth snagging.

Stats:

  • Mobility: 23
  • Resilience: 3
  • Recovery: 11
  • Discipline: 13
  • Intellect: 7
  • Strength: 9
  • Total: 66

Armamentarium (Titan)

As Shaxx says, you should be throwing more grenades. Armamentarium can help make that happen.
As Shaxx says, you should be throwing more grenades. Armamentarium can help make that happen.

Another simple Exotic, Armamentarium increases your grenade charges, giving you two instead of one. That can be pretty devastating in a lot of situations, allowing you to smash enemies in PvE or surprise Guardians in the Crucible. If you're looking for a build that has you slinging grenades all the time, grab Armamentarium and start blowing stuff up.

Stats:

  • Mobility: 14
  • Resilience: 14
  • Recovery: 3
  • Discipline: 13
  • Intellect: 16
  • Strength: 2
  • Total: 62

Wings of Sacred Dawn (Warlock)

Wings of Sacred Dawn helps you to wreck enemies while airborne, making it easier to surprise your opponents.
Wings of Sacred Dawn helps you to wreck enemies while airborne, making it easier to surprise your opponents.

For Dawnblade Warlocks, hovering in the air can be a huge advantage. Wings of Sacred Dawn increases that advantage by suspending you in the air when you aim your weapons, while increasing your accuracy and making you more resistant to damage and flinch. The more you land hits, the longer you can stay in the air, giving you the opportunity to surprise Crucible opponents and enemies who don't expect to have to deal with airborne enemies.

Stats:

  • Mobility: 4
  • Resilience: 12
  • Recovery: 17
  • Discipline: 7
  • Intellect: 10
  • Strength: 14
  • Total: 64
