Now Playing: Destiny 2 - Where Is Xur? Exotic Vendor Location Guide (1/24-1/28)

Xur Location

Xur is located on Titan on The Rig this weekend. His Exotic weapon this week is Monte Carlo. Hunters can get the Orpheus Rig leg armor; Titans get a chance at the Actium War Rig chest armor; and for Warlocks, there's the Verity's Brow helmet.

Head to Titan to find Xur this week, hanging out in the shadows inside one of the structure's abandoned buildings.

Xur Inventory

This week, Xur offers an Exotic we haven't seen from him before: Monte Carlo. The Destiny 1 auto rifle was reintroduced in D2 with the Shadowkeep expansion, but up until now, the only way to get it was from a random Exotic engram drop. It's definitely a gun worth snagging, thanks to perks that increase its power the more enemies you mow down.

If Xur's wares aren't compelling, you can always roll the dice on the expensive Fated Engram he brings with him. This gives you a single Exotic from the limited pool of ones you haven't already earned, for the price of 97 Legendary shards. If there's something you're missing from your collection and you want it sooner rather than later, it can be a good deal--starting with the Season of Dawn, all Exotic Engrams are Fated Engrams, but you'll have to level up your Season Pass or wait for a random drop to get some. Be sure to purchase it on the character who's missing the Exotic, and note that you can only get one per week, so choose wisely which of your characters makes the buy. If you're a PC or Xbox One player taking advantage of cross-save, you can now potentially get Wavesplitter from the Fated Engram as well, thanks to the fact that it's no longer exclusive to PS4.

Xur Item Lineup (January 10-14)

  • Monte Carlo (Exotic auto rifle)
  • Orpheus Rig (Exotic Hunter leg armor)
  • Actium War Rig (Exotic Titan chest armor)
  • Verity's Brow (Exotic Warlock helmet)

Monte Carlo

Xur's got Monte Carlo this week, an Exotic that was released with the Shadowkeep expansion you'll definitely want in your collection.

Xur's weapon this week is a Shadowkeep Exotic, which already should put it on your radar. This is one you could only get from random Exotic engrams, so take this opportunity to snag it. The powerful auto rifle has a big magazine and does increased damage both as you rack up kills from the gun and as you earn melee kills, while simultaneously reducing your melee cooldown and giving a chance to fully restore your melee ability. Pair Monte Carlo with a melee-specific armor build and you should able to punch and shoot through just about anything.

Orpheus Rig

Orpheus Rig is one of the most useful Hunter Exotics in PvE.
Orpheus Rig is one of the most useful Hunter Exotics in PvE.

This Hunter mainstay needs to be in your collection, if it isn't already. It gives you ability energy back when you use your Nightfall Super's arrows, increasing your gains for each enemy tethered. That makes it great in a lot of situations, like most boss fights and tough PvE activities. Orpheus is an old Exotic, but if you haven't been using it, you really should be.

Xur's Titan offering this week makes a pretty good pair with Monte Carlo. With the Exotic equipped, your equipped auto rifle or machine gun will slowly get reloaded from your reserves, keeping more bullets in your magazines. Throw on some melee mods and you're good to go.

If you like energy weapons and Warlock grenades, you'll love Verity's Brow.

For Warlocks, Verity's Brow can be great if you have a favorite energy weapon and love chucking grenades. The helmet gives you grenade energy for every energy weapon kill you score--so if you're using something that chews up enemies, like The Recluse, you can refill your grenades super quickly. This is a useful one for PvE especially.
