[Last Chance] Where Is Xur Today? Destiny 2 Exotic Vendor Location & Items (February 21-25)

Our favorite squid-faced weekend visitor, Xur, has arrived in Destiny 2.

Comments

We only have a few weeks of Destiny 2's Season of Dawn left, which means new content will soon be on the way. That makes this a good opportunity to start messing around with some new Exotics to find new guns and armor builds you might like, especially since Bungie has announced a whole bunch of weapon nerfs coming next season. Xur is still in the solar system for one more day, with another opportunity for you to get the Exotics you're missing--here's where to find him and everything he's carrying. [Update: This particular visit has ended, but Xur has returned to the game with another slate of Exotics for purchase from February 28 until the weekly reset.]

Xur is located on Earth in the EDZ right now, in Winding Cove. His Exotic weapon this week is The Colony. Hunters can get Raiden Flux chest armor; Titans have the Mask of the Quiet One helmet on offer; and Warlocks can purchase the Crown of Tempests helmet.

Now Playing: Destiny 2 Xur Location Guide February 21

Xur Location

You'll find Xur on a cliff in Winding Cove. Drop into the transmat zone and head north to the edge of the area. Climb the cliffside up toward a crashed Fallen dropship--Xur is standing at the edge of the cliff beside it, but watch out for the Fallen hanging out in the area.

Head to the north end of Winding Cove and climb the cliff to find Xur surveying the area.

Xur Inventory

Xur's got an oldie but a goodie as his weapon offering this week in The Colony. This Exotic grenade launcher is a Crucible favorite, thanks to its spider bot grenades that seek out targets, making it very easy to use for quick Heavy ammo kills.

If Xur's wares aren't compelling, you can always roll the dice on the expensive Fated Engram he brings with him. This gives you a single Exotic from the limited pool of ones you haven't already earned, for the price of 97 Legendary shards. If there's something you're missing from your collection and you want it sooner rather than later, it can be a good deal--starting with the Season of Dawn, all Exotic Engrams are Fated Engrams, but you'll have to level up your Season Pass or wait for a random drop to get some. Be sure to purchase it on the character who's missing the Exotic, and note that you can only get one per week, so choose wisely which of your characters makes the buy. If you're a PC or Xbox One player taking advantage of cross-save, you can now potentially get Wavesplitter from the Fated Engram as well, thanks to the fact that it's no longer exclusive to PS4.

Xur Item Lineup (February 21-25)

  • The Colony (Exotic grenade launcher)
  • Raiden Flux (Exotic Hunter chest armor)
  • Mask of the Quiet One (Exotic Titan helmet)
  • Crown of Tempests (Exotic Warlock helmet)

The Colony

The Colony's target-seeking spider bot grenades are usually good for free kills in the Crucible.
The Colony's target-seeking spider bot grenades are usually good for free kills in the Crucible.

You'll often see The Colony getting a lot of use in the Crucible, because it's a Heavy weapon that often can guarantee easy kills. The launcher doesn't blast normal grenades: it fires roving spider bots that lock on to targets and chase them down. The spider bots do the aiming for you, and they're pretty tough to avoid for anyone on the receiving end, making this a good Heavy slot mainstay if you don't have another Exotic gun you favor more in PvP.

Raiden Flux (Hunter)

Boost your Arcstrider Super with Raiden Flux, dealing more damage and extending its duration as you rack up kills.

Hunters can snag Raiden Flux this week, a Year One Exotic that definitely has its uses, especially in clearing lots of adds in PvE situations. The Exotic chest armor extends the duration and damage of your Arcstrider Super with every kill you score. So if you've got a lot of enemies to kill, this is a great piece of armor to equip to wreck a lot of enemies very quickly.

You get a bunch of benefits as you take damage when you wear The Mask of the Quiet One, which can make it great for Crucible matches.

This is another handy Exotic for the Crucible for Titans, especially if you're not using One-Eyed Mask. The helmet grants you ability energy whenever you take damage, helping you get your Barriers, grenades, and melee strikes back more quickly. If you're critically injured, the mask will give you health back for kills, making it handy in emergencies, too.

Crown of Tempests (Warlock)

Keep your Stormtrance going by scoring kills with Crown of Tempests.

Crown of Tempests is a great one for both Gambit and Crucible. The Warlock Exotic recharges your Arc abilities whenever you score Arc ability kills, while also extending your Stormtrance Super. That means the more Arc kills you score, especially when activating the Super, the more you get. It's great for running over tons of enemies in Gambit, but also works well in PvP, too.
