What If? Zombie Hunter Spider-Man Gets A $270 Hot Toys Figure

With great fashion sense comes even greater and more fashionable responsibility.

Marvel's upcoming What If…? series is out later this month, and it'll be exploring an entire multiverse of storylines where small changes resulted in huge ramifications. In one of those alternate realities, zombies are apparently on the loose and the only hero standing in their way is a Spider-Man who has broken the no capes rule. While Spidey's zombie hunter incarnation was revealed last week to be part of the latest Hasbro Marvel Legends line of action figures, a more authentic and expensive version will also be up for preorder.

Hot Toys has shown off its upcoming sixth-scale replica, which features Spider-Man in his regular MCU costume but with a trendy cloak of levitation. The cloak has bendable wires inside of it for maximum dramatic effect, while the rest of the figure comes packaged with spare hands in various poses, extra spider-webs to attach to the web-shooters, and interchangeable eyepieces that can create different expressions.

Over at its summer showcase event in Hong Kong, Hot Toys has also shown off prototypes of other What If…? figures such as a zombified Captain America, Captain Carter, and Steve Rogers in Hydra Stomper Armor.

Like all Hot Toys sixth-scale figures, Zombie Hunter Spider-Man won't be cheap as it costs $270 and is scheduled to ship sometime between July and September 2022. This isn't the only Spider-Man with a supernatural twist that Hot Toys is working on, as it recently unveiled its Spider-Man: Far From Home replica, which features a few spell-slinging accessories.

The first season of What If...? begins airing from August 11 on Disney+, and features a stacked cast of actors from the MCU voicing their signature characters, such as Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Josh Brolin as Thanos, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and many more. One actor you won't find reprising his role though is Dave Bautista as nobody at Disney asked him if he'd like to record a few lines for Drax the Destroyer.
