The latest NPD PC sales chart is out, and it reveals that Infogrames' much-anticipated Master of Orion III was the top-selling PC game in the US during the game's first week on store shelves. There was a fair bit of movement on this week's chart, as Unreal II fell out of the top 10, SimCity 4 dropped from its recently consistent place among the top three, and the now-discount-priced Grand Theft Auto III jumped back into the limelight.

Best-selling PC games for the week of February 23 to March 1:

Rank / Title / Publisher / Average Price
1 / Master of Orion III / Infogrames / $47
2 / Command & Conquer: Generals / EA / $44
3 / Splinter Cell / Ubi Soft / $47
4 / The Sims Deluxe / EA / $44
5 / Grand Theft Auto III / Take Two / $24
6 / The Sims: Unleashed / EA / $27
7 / SimCity 4 / EA / $48
8 / Zoo Tycoon / Microsoft / $27
9 / Battlefield 1942: The Road to Rome / EA / $19
10 / Battlefield 1942 / EA / $47
