Watchmen scribe Alex Tse will write Gran Turismo film adaptation

Just because Watchmen wasn't very good doesn't mean the writing wasn't. Still, no matter how good the writing for this movie is or how good it is overall I won't be seeing it. I just don't like racing games and even more I don't care for movies based on that. I can't seem to give a shit about fancy fast cars because that all seems so trivial and pointless when you boil it all down. All that matters to me is if my car gets me from point A to point B. Not to mention the douchebaggery and materialism that goes along with fancy fast cars.

um, how about making a movie based on a game that has an actual story that people care about? i mean, are you serious? *rolls eyes*

Well at least there's not much you can do to screw up a racing movie. Just make it fast, dumb, and flashy. They can't do what they did to the Super Mario Bros movie where Bowser was just a dude and goombas were huge mutants in trench-coats and the world was all weird and futuristic.

I wonder if, like the game, Some of the movie will be in high def while most of it is low quality.

In what way did he write the screenplay for Watchmen? The entire film is simply a copy of every single frame of the novel scene for scene, word for word.

How do you write something that is already written?

Other than that he's helped rewrite a few extremely poor films, but hey, at least he's not been given a beloved franchise that actually has a plot.

What? The Gran Turismo adaptation to film? Isn't that just any car-racing movie ever? Unless the movie involves nothing but a single faceless/nameless individual spending hours getting his S class licenses and then buying a few hundred cars, taking them to the car wash, changing the oil, and, finally, racing his beetle for the achievements, I call Shenanigans!

Bad choice. Watchmen the movie was a shot by shot copy of the graphic novel, which by my standards is awesome, but that only proves the screenwriters had no frikin clue how to write an original and different story.

But Gran Turismo has no plot besides you are a driver who participates in races. It's a driving simulator.

That live action ninja scroll movie sounds promising. I don't enjoy racing games or movies so this news does not apply to me.

It's about a guy that starts his career with 10.000$ for a car. Starts racing and winning to buy a new one, also while getting different licenses for races.

Most games to movies fail beyond terribly, so who thought it would be a wise idea to make a movie of a game...that has no story!? Seriously, just watch any form of racing on the T.V. and that's as close as you're going to get. Not only that, but GT is a simulator so it already copies real life. So it's a film based on a game based on real life? That just tells you to set your expectations really really low.

Remember people. They made a movie about Battleship. They'll slap together anything with a marketable name as long as they think there's money to be made, regardless of the fact that Gran Turismo is literally about nothing but cars.

sure, why not, make a movie based on game with NO STORY, no lore, no gameworld, no nothng, NOTHING, only name.

It would be more entertaining than battlefield 4's single player story.
