X-Men: Apocalypse is the latest film in the hugely successful mutant superhero franchise, and hits cinemas next month. We've already had some standard trailers, but now a cool viral teaser has been released. It's a vintage TV promo for a fake documentary about the movie's titular bad guy. Check it out below:

X-Men: Apocalypse is directed by Bryan Singer, who made the first two movies in the series and returned for 2014's hugely successful Days of Future Past.

Singer has previous announced that he'll be taking a break from the franchise to direct a remake of the sci-fi classic 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. However, rumours this week suggested that the next X-Men movie might focus on the classic Dark Phoenix Saga from Marvel's comic books.

According to Heroic Hollywood, the storyline is being considered for the Apocalypse follow-up, even though it was technically dealt with in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand. This rumour was backed up by quotes from producer Simon Kinberg, who told IGN: "I think everything that hasn't been told from First Class and Days of Future Past is up for grabs going forward, so it would absolutely be a story we could tell in a different way."

X-Men: Apocalypse is released on May 27, 2016, and stars Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, and Rose Byrne.
