Watch Trailer for Hollywood's Frankenstein Reimagining

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe leads Victor Frankenstein

Mary Shelley's classic horror novel Frankenstein has seen many films adaptations over the decades, but it seems there's always space for one more. X-Men's James McAvoy is the latest actor to portray the titular monster-making doctor in the forthcoming Victor Frankenstein. Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe plays Frankenstein's faithful assistant Igor, and there's a brand new trailer which can be watched below:

The film is directed by Paul McGuigan and written by Max Landis, whose previous work includes the cult superhero hit Chronicle. In an interview with Collider, Radcliffe described the film as a "rip-roaring, fun adventure movie version of Frankenstein."

"There are horror elements to it and nods to previous versions of Frankenstein, but it’s much more a film about the relationship between James’ character and I," he said. "One of the biggest differences between us and other Frankensteins will be that, generally speaking, the main relationship is between Frankenstein and the monster, and the monster is created in the middle of the movie. In our version it’s created right at the end, and the journey up to that point is about how we come to that eventual idea."

Victor Frankenstein also stars Jessica Brown, Andrew Scott and Mark Gatiss and arrives in cinemas on November 25, 2015.
